Fact or Crap: Dark Kabuto?

31 07 2006

nullThere ain’t a lot of real news to drop that I’m noticing, but rumors can be fun too. Over in our forums there’s whisper and a word of a Dark Kabuto. Is this a new Rider or has Mr. Perfect himself, Tendou fallen to the dark side?

Or is it that we’re all suckers at the whim of really good photoshop?

Drop on in the forums to discuss whether or not this Black Rider is the real deal or just a waste of webspace.

BCG the End of E3?

31 07 2006

nullThe first place I heard about it was in our forums, but it sounds like last year was the end of E3 as all us video games have come to know it. Rumor, and that’s all it is, is that Sony got their cans kicked so far across the galaxy by Nintendo and Microsoft that like that sore loser you used to play kickball with, they took their toys and vowed never to come again. This and mother rich and tasty amounts of video game news can be found in the latest episode of Broadcast Gamer which I can’t recommend enough. Along with this is a couple links to some hard to find Squaresoft/Square Enix/SquEnix games. One of them is what I’d call the greatest game of all time for Super Sentai fans… Xenogears. Click this link or the above picture to catch M.C. Wilson’s latest cast.

Broadcast Gamer Preview: YAKUZA

28 07 2006

null Known as Ryu Ga Gotoku in Japan, Yakuza is set to hit these shores early September. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s said to be the spiritual successor to one of my all time favorite video games, the epic and majestic Shenmue Saga. That right there is good enough to get my money. Broadcast Gamer posted up a audio preview along with some hearty helpings of video game news. Soon after listening I ran out, picked up the demo in OPM (for fwickin’ 10 bucks?!?!?!) and started to explore my inner Japanese martial art gangster. I’ll see about writing up a more full preview later but the game seems to have some kinda setting where it winks out and back to the menu screen after 15 minutes of gameplay, which I find questionable at best. In the mean time, sllllliiiide your mouse over here or click the above picture to listen to M.C. Wilson’s coverage of what looks like one of the last great games for the PlayStation 2.

Nintendo vs. Xbox vs. Playstation…. FIGHT!!!

22 07 2006

Looks like the battle is set to begin again. While the Nintendo DS Lite will remain the reigning champion over all, the battle for second will rage between the Nintendo Wii, the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. And I can’t wait for front row tickets. In the meantime, check out this pretty funny re-enactment of the upcoming epic battle.

Turtle Power is Back!

21 07 2006

null

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is making a comeback in an all CGI film early next year. Gaijinder/Kimiden/Mike pointed out this mad killer trailer that lays to rest any worries about another Turtles in Time … which I am not proud (or should I be?) to say that I saw in the movie theatre the week it landed.

In any case, check out this killer trailer that’ll no doubt re-awaken everyone’s love for those four pizza eatin’ ninja turtles. The heroes on the half shell are back and I couldn’t be prouder.

Talk amongst yourselves. ;)

While we’re on the subject, it looks like a straight to DVD TV series is coming down the pipe. Check out this discussion of TMNT: Fast Forward.

Team Fremont: CHROMEHOUNDS

20 07 2006

null
I [heart] me the hell outta a good podcasts. They make doing dishes and the ride to and from work all the easier. And Team Fremont is one of the best. While other podcasts and review outlets harp about how much Chromehounds is not MechAssault, Hilden of TFL breaks down why that’s a good thing and why anyone who’s serious about their mech action needs to hop on this game and build a mech. Click here and check out their latest cast.

While you’re at it, another of the greatest podcasts, Broadcast Gamer, is thinking about quitting at Episode 100. Stop on over there to check out M.C. Wilson’s incredible job then beg him not to throw in the towel forever. His E3 2006 coverage was the absolute best I’ve heard anywhere on the internet. Enjoy!

I’ve known these two for about three years now I think. I see them maximum twice a year and I feel like they’re family. Just wanted to drop a heart felt congratulations to forum members Mega Ranger and the Englishcookie for tying the knot last weekend and stopping in to HJU to tell us about it! Indeed, this is a powerful union that nobody saw coming, but everyone always hoped would be. Good work guys.

Their Great Love is BURNING RED! It’s bright cry tells them to reach for happiness!!! null

The end is nigh? o_O

17 07 2006

As some of you may or may not know, I’ve been keeping up with French independent/amateur movies, namely the big three of Damned, France Five and Bitoman (Although I can’t forget Bioumen either as I sang the ending theme to Part 3).

Anyways, the latest episode of Damned was released a few days ago in installments, featuring the Panoux as well as Black Beaujolais and Pink A La Mode from France Five in a brief cameo. A few days later FranceFive.com went offline. O_o

Could this mean that the final installment is on it’s way?

EDIT: ..as it turns out, no -_-

 Sorry folks ^^;
