Marvel’s 2008 Event: “Secret Invasion”

21 09 2007

As if Civil War and World War Hulk weren’t enough to send the Marvel Universe reeling, another disaster in waiting for Earth’s heroes in 2008. But this time, the threat is one they didn’t see coming and have almost no way of smoking out. Their only clue so far is the revelation that Elektra, leader of the Hand, has been impersonated by one of the alien shapeshifting race called the Skrulls for some time. And to make matters even worse, the Skrulls have somehow become undetectable to the likes of Wolverine, Spider-Man and even Doctor Strange. As a result, trust among the New Avengers is shaky at best, and the worst is still coming.

So what does all this mean for the future? Brian Bendis and Tom Bevroot have the answers.

GekiRanger the Video Game!!! - “Road to be Super GekiRanger!”

19 09 2007

null

HaiTien78 from the forums broke this bit of neat news. There is a video game out and it’s called, Super Gekiranger He No Michi. Biting on the Wii idea, this game’s a straight up “plug it up” toy that you attach to your TV, strap on some gloves and start goin’ off. You can pit your very fists against Rio-sama himself!

Seems like a cool idea, but no doubt after about five minutes punching air and RinJyuKen butt, you’d start to wonder about all the truely good things you could have done with that 60 bucks you dropped.

Still………. the temptation to drop the duckets on this bit of rare toku joy…. I dunno. Provided this is half as cool as it looks, I’d imagine that you’d be quite the star of the show at anime geek parties if you were to whip this out.

This is courtesy of Japan-Toy.Com and along with this game, there are some pretty damn well priced toys. 25 bucks for a GonkChanger? That ain’t bad… not by a long shot.

Superman: Doomsday - Impressions

19 09 2007

Superman: Doomsday has landed and the impressions are rolling in all around the intertron. Most of it, damn near 90% I’ve read, is good. But as a fan and lover of the DC Animated Universe established with Batman the Animated Series, Superman, and Justice League Unlimited, I’m not too sweet on this new launch of DC Animated Movies.

Here are my impressions thus far:

I’ve watched it up to the point where Superman dies aaannnnd, I’m not digging it. Not nearly as good as the Justice League episodes that have dealt with Doomsday and Superman and Lois’s replacments don’t seem to love the roles. Anne Heche as Lois sounds forced, distant and sometimes a bit annoyed at doing the role. I guess it’s not fair to compare her against the original that’s been doing the voice for years, but I really wish they hadn’t switched voices at all.

And the Superman cheekbones. Like, we can see it is the regular Superman that we like there and uglier cheekbones than the original ones slapped on him at the beginning of the Justice League are even more distracting here. And some chin divid.

This Doomsday is mindless, where the one in JLU could talk and was chilling in his savagry and how calmly he spoke.

Lex Luthor looks like he’s succombed to anirexia and also throws me off on how ugly he looks now. His voice was okay.

My may problem with the new voices is…. you can feel that they just don’t get it or love it. Like, they’re just going through the paces.

I’ll finish it up today, but yeah… I’m not hot on it.

So, take that for what you will. I downloaded it off Xbox LIVE and fired it up and have not really enjoyed it all that much. I’ll be watching the rest of it and laying down my final impressions in the newly configured cartoons, comics, and anime forum, The Graphix Café

Drop on in and let us know what you think.

TIMETROUBLER - KOHANA

The sight around the Den Liner was a very unusual one. The usual railroad crosses the canyons of time but a detour from that line seems to be cut. According to the Owner, this is a new line, however, he doesn’t know where it is connected to or if something is going on with it. Yuuto has finally ran out of Zeronos cards. As Yuuto transformed, in other words, as he used the cards, various people lost their memories about Yuuto. Even Yuka (Ep 17) doesn’t remember a thing about him. Ryotaro is troubled by that situation and receives a phonecall from Hana, who wants to meet Ryotaro. However, something about her voice tone wasn’t quite right… What could’ve happened?
