Power Rangers Confirmed to Continue Into 2010

Rumors that the Power Rangers franchise might be winding down were put to rest in March 2009, when Disney and Bandai America confirmed a new season for 2010. A joint statement described both companies as remaining committed to the brand, with Disney producing what would become Season 18 and Bandai America continuing to develop action figures and collector toys.

The statement also noted that Bandai America was running a fan poll, in partnership with ToyFare, to help choose an upcoming Power Ranger chase figure. By that point the franchise had run for seventeen years, sending its Rangers everywhere from outer space to the ocean floor against a rotating cast of villains including Rita Repulsa, Divatox, Master Org, and Dark Spector.
