Sea Jetter Kaito: The Movie

Sea Jetter Kaito, a local hero associated with the city of Ishinomaki, was set for a film adaptation. The character originated as a rough sketch by Shotaro Ishinomori, initially intended for a hero called Iron Devil Shadol before that concept was scrapped and reworked into Chojin Bashan from Chojin Bibyun. In 2004, the Ishinomori Manga Museum revived the discarded design as Sea Jetter Kaito, which went on to gain a modest following and its own manga. The new movie, featuring familiar cast and staff from the character’s history, was set to screen at the Ishinomori Manga Museum starting March 23.

The theme song, “Sea Jetter Kaito,” was performed by Masaki Endou, with insert songs “The Immortal Hero Sea Jetter Kaito” by Hironobu Kageyama, Masaki Endou, and Hiroshi Kitadani, and “Fight!! Sea Jetter Kaito” by Ichiro Mizuki. The film was directed by Hidenori Ishida (Kamen Rider Kuuga, Kamen Rider Ryuki, Kamen Rider Kabuto: God Speed Love), written by Riku Sanjo (Kamen Rider W, Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger), and produced by Jun Hikasa (Kamen Rider Blade, Engine Sentai Go-Onger, Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger) alongside Naomi Takebe (Kamen Rider Kiva, Kamen Rider OOO, Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters).
