Uchusen magazine reported that Super Hero Taisen Z would include a major surprise after its credits. According to a source present at the film’s prescreening, that surprise was a tease for a new project centered on Kikaider, the cyborg hero created by Shotaro Ishinomori: as the credits rolled, Kikaider appeared on screen accompanied by a faint heartbeat sound. Whether the new project would take the form of live action or anime remained unknown at the time.
