Ressha Sentai Tokkyuger: The Five Heroes' Personalities Revealed

Ressha Sentai Tokkyuger, the newest entry in the Super Sentai franchise, was set to premiere on February 16, 2014, following a team of heroes who use the power of imagination to protect people’s hopes and dreams while riding the Ressha along the Rainbow Line against the dark Shadow Line army.

Magazine scans revealed the personalities of the show’s five leads: Tokkyu Ichigou, the leader, was described as a happy soldier hiding a greater imagination than anyone else; Tokkyu Nigou as an incredibly smart, dictionary-like soldier prone to overthinking; Tokkyu Sangou as a dependable teammate skilled in a variety of martial arts; Tokkyu Yongou as an unhurried soldier who draws his power from calm; and Tokkyu Gogou as a cute-natured team member who can take on different characters to fight, using the gap between appearance and strength to her advantage.

The team was set to debut in a movie, transforming and fighting with train-based powers, ahead of the TV series. Early merchandise details covered the Tokkyu Changer wrist brace holding each hero’s Ressha, the Rainbow Pass loaded into the Tokkyu Buckle, and the team’s shared weapon, the Tokkyu Blaster, a gun that can convert into a sword.
