HJU on Twitter

There is a new power couple in Japan, as Ultraman Geed voice actress Suzuko Mimori was discovered to be dating professional wrestler Kazuchika Okada.┬áMimori serves as the voice of Geed’s supercomputer REM, as well as the on-screen manifestation of the character which appears late in the series. Her affiliation with Okada proved a surprise to many of her adoring devotees.

Reports began to appear early in the weekend via Twitter, when Bunshun Online spotted them together on two occasions. The first on the evening of January 9th, where both spent time at each others’ homes. They were then spotted again the following day.

Okada quickly confirmed the relationship in Bunshin Online’s report. Over Twitter, Okada mentions how they have been in a serious relationship for nearly 5 months. There are no current marriage plans, though he is considering the option. Okada vowed he will continue to strive in the professional wrestling world, and thanked fans for their support.

Whereas, Mimori apologized to fans who were easily shocked at the revelation. Mimori also acknowledged that her relationship with Okada is serious, and she too considers if they will have a longer future together. Like Okada, Mimori also vowed she will continue to work in earnest as she has always done.

For those who are not fans of professional wrestling, Kazuchika Okada is one of the biggest stars of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Currently, Okada is the company’s IWGP Heavyweight Champion, having four reigns in total. When combined, these successes also place Okada as the company’s longest-reigning champion.

Furthermore, Okada has won the G1┬áCup on two occasions. The reason we bring this up is that he and Mimori began dating during the last G1 Climax in August 2017. Additional reports suggest the two began to take interest in one another over the course of several events hosted by Bushiroad, the parent company to Suzuko’s agency Hibiki, and prime shareholder in NJPW.
