RPM- BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

RPM- BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

Video Update
This season of Power Rangers is an exceptional one so far. So I threw together a little something as a tribute to the show: Power Rangers RPM. It may be the last season. If it is, here's hoping it goes out with a bang. -Dr. Tristan

Previously on RPM. Dr. K basically spent her whole life working like a slave in a "think tank" with the ridiculously cheerful twins, Gem and Gemma. Tenaya also stuck a device on Dillon's neck to turn him all robotical and stuff. Summer decided she was a hypnotist and that she would use her skills to bring Dillon's memories back. Well, his memories lead the kids to the post-apocalyptic Omega City, where Venjix (in a spiffy new body) is waiting to kill them all to death. But at the last second, the Rangers are saved by two shiny new guys who talk really funny. Will the Rangers ever return from Omega City alive? Well of course they will, but let's pretend we don't know that. We begin pretty much where we left off, with the gang all huddled into the Go-Onger van (teehee). Flynn drives...

RECAP: POWER RANGERS RPM #14- “EMBODIED”

Previously on RPM. The scat really hit the fan in the last few episodes. As Dr. Kr reveals to the Rangers how she accidentally, kinda, sorta, might have had something to do with a lethal computer virus destroying civilization as we know it. Dillon has his own problems to deal with, in the form of some pesky amnesia, and a bunch of Venjix technology swimming around his insides. What's a cyborg to do? This week's episode begins with a random zord fight. Luckily, they know which monsters NOT to feature for a big story, so this guy gets taken care of pretty quickly. I'm not sure how many scenes I could have taken where the attack bot uses his lethal "Slippery Floor" technique. As a finisher, I half expected him to throw a banana at their feet in hopes that the Megazord would step on it and...

GETTING IN GEAR: “RANGER BLUE” AND RPM THUS FAR

News
Can I just say how honestly and truly I did not expect "Power Rangers RPM" to be even half of what it has been so far? The latest Ranger series has so far cut a path for itself that surpasses almost anything we've seen in the last several years from what has felt like an elderly friend on life support for a good while now. The most recent episode, "Ranger Blue" is a perfect example of all the ways in which this show is getting the job done right, and doing so with style, fun, and a visible desire to impress... The episode begins with what is probably my favorite scene this week. A Q&A session between the emotional, inquisitive Rangers and the near-emotionless, socially inept Dr. K, who barely tolerates their line of questioning. The fun part is they're asking questions that we as vi...

News
Previously on Dragon Knight. Spidey returned with a spiffy new makeover, and the dynamic duo of Kit and Len had to save a technician on the roof from getting captured. Len is getting his ass kicked, until Kit decides to make a contract with the dragon (whatever that means) and turns into the red guy, thus making the lead hero of the show. Meanwhile, a new enemy in the form of Kamen Rider Incisor is ready to take both our heroes down. Oh me, oh my, I do believe those are some of the longest "previously on" segments I've watched since the days of Dragon Ball Z. Complete with long pauses of dead silence. The least they could do is add more stuff from several episodes to pad the thing out, if they HAVE TO show a certain amount of past footage. After 17 hours of previously-aired footage of I...

Previously on Dragon Knight. Whatever town these people live in, there must be something in the water, because they all seem thoroughly crazy. They're seeing strange monsters that kidnap people through mirrors. And Kit Taylor is about to become just as crazy as Len (aka Keanu Schwarzenegger). Kit gets sucked into another dimension and is forced to run, as Puff the Magic Dragon tries to kill 'em with fire! We begin just where we left off, as Kit is blasted by the dragon and does his best Tarzan yell in response. The armored Kit and Len get thrown through the city like rag dolls. Kit is understandably perplexed at this unlikely series of events. But Len doesn't have time for a heart-to-heart, so he tells him to hurry up and follow him through the mirror. Sadly, Kit is too busy marvell...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE HEROES OF DRAGON KNIGHT! After great turmoil in the world of American toku, the fandom was hard at work writing letters to Santa, asking him to bring them something fresh this holiday season. Something that could challenge the likes of Power Rangers as a force to be reckoned with. Santa's answer?... "Kamen Rider Dragon Knight!" Our story begins in the indoor parking lot, much like the one during the opening to the "Highlander" movie. As a young asian woman walks over to her car, she hears a strange sound. She's unable to see what's behind her. She got a stalker, y'all. An inhuman monster that wants to take her away to do goodness-knows-what with her once he's got her where he wants her! The woman tries to fight back as she is grabbed and slowly dragged into a refl...

Greg Aronowitz of Power Rangers SPD Presents: BATTLE PLANET – The Battle SPD Planet Suit Thing

News
Whenever I write one of these things, I have a tendency to play a word-association game with myself based on the title I'm discussing. It's just something I can't help. And when I settled in to watch "Battle Planet," which aired last night on the Sci-Fi Channel, it happened again. See, "Battle Planet," written and directed by Greg Aronowitz (beloved Executive Producer of "Power Rangers SPD") was originally titled "The Suit." After watching the film, I would say that was a far better title. But something tells me The Powers That Be didn't want people like me playing the word-association game and remembering things like this. Yep... Jackie Chan... and Jennifer Love Hewitt... in a movie together. You forgot about that one, didn't you? Perhaps intentionally. But whatever the reasons, Mr. ...

"Now The Final Fury" Seriously, that title could have used some revision. Previously on Jungle Fury. Jarrod kicked Dai Shi out of his body. TO THE LEFT, TO THE LEFT! Camille joined forces with him and the Rangers to beat up on the Phantoms. Dai Shi's gonna be maaaaad. We begin with the formerly evil power couple. Jarrod wants to be alone, so he decides the best place to be is Pai Zhua. I guess everybody is still on vacation. And they've really let the underground room get dirty after Mao died. In any case, Jarrod's not done sulking over his phailures. It's at this point in the episode that I begin to reach for my razor blade. Meanwhile, the Jungle Karma Kids are all training together, and the pizza wench is ready as always to give them some refreshing pizza... And I suddenly have to ...

A Power Rangers Recap: DESTROY ALL BASES!

News
Previously on Jungle Fury. The Phantom Beasts got their asses handed to them when they tried to move in against Jarrod's woman. Casey had a crying fit over not becoming a Master like the others. It was sad. "Path of the Righteous"   ... I don't have a caption for this. I think you can draw your own conclusions here. We open the episode with Casey in the pizza shop, working alone. Apparently, Masters don't do the menial tasks anymore. Dominic sits in the corner reading a book because he's awesome, but he senses some bad mojo coming off of Casey. He's still crying on the inside about his lack of Master stripes. Dominic mentions his new book (a gift from his stalker, Fran, no less) is To Kill a Mockingbird, which is about a man who stands up for what's right even when the whole town ...
