Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD SODO Figures Wave 7

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys, Uncategorized
Kamen Rider Build's SODO toy line continues to deliver with wave 7. This wave consists of Kamen Rider Build SmartPhoneWolf form, Kamen Rider Rogue and a third figure of your choosing. The last figure comes with enough pieces to create Engine Bro, Remocon Bro, or Hell Bros form. All these figures are very well done, as you'd expect from SODO, and they come with a fair amount of paint, especially the Hell Bros. I highly recommend getting a case rather than a set for this wave, so that you can have both Bros in your collection. Overall, this is another great wave, and I look forward to more from the SODO line. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWIcEWtxQjs&feature=youtu.be   You might also like: Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Full Full Rabbit Tank Bottle & DX Full Bottle B...
Toy Review: LUPINRANGER VS PATRANGER’s DX Cyclone Dial Fighter & DX Trigger Machine Biker

Toy Review: LUPINRANGER VS PATRANGER’s DX Cyclone Dial Fighter & DX Trigger Machine Biker

Reviews, Super Sentai, Toku, Toys, Uncategorized
Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger has proven to be an excellent Super Sentai series, but its toy-line... Well, it's hit and miss. Today, we have the DX Cyclone Dial Fighter and the DX Trigger Machine Biker to talk about. And, while the Biker is clearly better than the Cyclone, neither are too amazing. The Cyclone Dial Fighter is the first upgrade item for the Lupinrangers. As a helicopter, it's pretty cool, mostly green with a unique aesthetic to it. I really like it in this mode. The dial opens up the propeller blades and, well, this is where the toy falls apart. As an "arm", if you can even call it that at this point, it looks awful. Now, in fairness, it's show accurate but it just looks like a broken helicopter attached to a robot. Thankfully, the sounds and in...
Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Tora UFO, Shika Pyramid, Kujira Jet, & Wizard Orange Full Bottle Sets

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Tora UFO, Shika Pyramid, Kujira Jet, & Wizard Orange Full Bottle Sets

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
So, since most regular release DX Full Bottle sets are so similar, we're going to go over 4 today from the Kamen Rider Build TV series and movie line. The first 3, from the show, are Tora UFO, Shika Pyramid, and Kujira Jet forms. All of these DX sets are fairly standard. If you like the form or the jingle (Shika Pyramid specifically has a very good jingle) then I recommend the sets. They're all cheap enough and solid additions into the Build toy line and any fans collection. However, the DX Wizard and Orange Full Bottle set is a bit more of a niche pick up. Much like the Kamen Rider Fourze and Kamen Rider OOO version, this set based on Kamen Rider Wizard and Kamen Rider Gaim requires you to have 2 other Full Bottles to achieve a Best Match with. Wizard best matches with Diamond fro...
Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Full Full Rabbit Tank Bottle & DX Full Bottle Buster

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Full Full Rabbit Tank Bottle & DX Full Bottle Buster

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
Kamen Rider Build gets another upgrade this month with his RabbitRabbit and TankTank forms, and boy, if you thought the DX Hazard Trigger was a finicky toy, the DX Full Full Rabbit Tank Bottle will fix that for you. The DX Full Full Bottle is roughly the size of 2 DX Full Bottles put together, one side is gold and contains an interchanging, twistable top that you choose from a Rabbit image, Tank image, or a neutral image. The silver side is where all the electronics are held, and where all my complaints begin. For starters, the two halves don't interact so the image displayed on the golden half is a novelty at best. Now, to activate the different sound effects, you shake the bottle.... No, I'm not joking. Shaking the bottle gives you the sound of Build mecha rabbit from the show an...

Toy Reviews: LUPINRANGER VS PATRANGER DX Good Striker & Candy Toy (Mini Pla) LupinKaiser Set 01

Reviews, Super Sentai, Toku, Toys
A month after Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger's first round of toys released, we now get the final missing piece to the wave 1 merchandise: Good Striker. DX Good Striker is a big and bulky mecha with 2 "modes" and 4 various functions. The first mode is his Dial Fighter form, where he more closely resembles one of the Lupinranger's mecha and, through some very simple and not-so-creative motions, he can assume his Trigger Machine form to more closely resemble the Patranger's mecha. Honestly, I think most people would agree Good Striker was really only meant to be an aerial vehicle. It's the mode he looks the best in and his car mode is a stretch at best, though I do admit the slight changes do make him fit in better with the respective teams. Good Striker also ...

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD SODO Figures Wave 6

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
Kamen Rider Build's 6th entry into the SODO line continues to  add new Riders to the mix, along with a movie exclusive/ganbarizing form and upgrade forms for the show's characters. First, let's start with Kamen Rider Grease. This figure looks great and (unsurprisingly) uses a lot of similar pieces and ideas from the Cross Charge figure from wave 5. Next, we have my personal least favorite figure, Doctor Game form. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this figure. The sculpt, the articulation, the paint and the stickers are all well done, but I just don't like the look of the form aesthetically. Now, supposedly this form was briefly seen in the last Heisei Generations movie before giving Kamen Rider Build a form resembling Kamen Rider Ex-Aid (though, at this point in tim...

Toy Review: S.H.Figuarts KAMEN RIDER BUILD

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, toku, Toys
S.H.Figuarts are known for making the best Kamen Rider figures on the market and the current entry in the television franchise is no exception. Kamen Rider Build Rabbit Tank Form is beautifully crafted here in sleek and shiny red and blue plastic with mat black underneath. Topping him off are his gorgeous red and blue compound eyes that, of course, emulate a rabbit and tank. His articulation is 100% what you expect from a figure of this quality and brand, though the head is slightly limited by his design. As for accessories, Build is pretty light, having only 5 hands to swap between, he doesn't come with any weapons or effect parts. While this is a bit of a bummer, it's hard to be too mad at the figure. It's a regular release SHF (which is rare nowadays) and it's incredibly cheap, beat...
Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Nebula Steam Gun & DX Crocodile Crack Full Bottle

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Nebula Steam Gun & DX Crocodile Crack Full Bottle

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys, Uncategorized
In Kamen Rider Build's second quarter, they remodeled the DX Trans Steam Gun into the DX Nebula Steam Gun, complete with new sounds and a sweet new purple paint job. The toy also comes with 2 Gears (basically square Full Bottles) that can create 3 forms. Much like the Trans Steam Gun, you can put any bottles you want in here, but it only reads the 2 Gears and the DX Crocodile Crack Full Bottle, which we'll get into more later. By inserting either the Gear Remocon or the Gear Engine into the gun and pulling the trigger, the user now becomes Remocon Bro or Engine Bro respectively. Another trigger pull results in the final attack for either character. Now here's when things get really cool. By inserting one gear, then the other, you get the "Funky Match" and fuse into the Hell Bro, als...

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD SODO Figures Wave 5

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
SODO set 5 makes a huge comeback after the lackluster set 4 for the Kamen Rider Build series. We have the return to form with 3 full figures (4 if you count the re-release of Night Rogue but I already have him from set 2 so we'll only be focusing on the new figures). First up, we have PhoenixRobo and RabbitTank Sparkling. These guys are fairly standard figures, though that's not a bad thing. Both have excellent detail, articulation, roughly the same amount of stickers, and they both maintain the body swap gimmick. Build's Sparkling form only has one slight deviation from the norm, being a fully painted face that is also one solid piece unable to split up while the rest of him can. Cross Charge, however, is a completely new type of figure to this line. Also split into 2 boxes, Cros...
Toy Review: LUPINRANGER VS PATRANGER’s DX VS Changer, All DX Dial Fighters & Trigger Machines

Toy Review: LUPINRANGER VS PATRANGER’s DX VS Changer, All DX Dial Fighters & Trigger Machines

Reviews, Super Sentai, Toku, Toys, Uncategorized
The Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger toy line has started off on a fairly high note. The concept of one Morpher being utilized slightly differently by both teams is an interesting one and the VS Changer pulls this off well, almost feeling like 2 separate Morphers. The toy can be purchased in 2 separate ways as well. One being the Lupinranger version and the other being the Patranger version. The VS Changer itself doesn't vary from set to set but rather the included mecha, being either the Red Dial Fighter or Trigger Machine Ichigo. In the end, regardless of which version you purchase, all of the DX Trigger Machines and Dial Fighters are available for individual purchase separately. The gun, for the most part, is white with black and orange highlight, and clear re...
