New posters for this winter's Kamen Rider mega-crossover event, Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FINAL: Build & Ex-Aid with Legend Riders, have surfaced, and we've got our microscopes handy for some good old-fashioned speculation about what these images could mean for the landmark film. As the headlining Kamen Rider Build takes center stage as the final Rider series of this decades-long franchise to air during Japan's Heisei Era, this can be seen as the closing chapter of an epic saga. At least until next year, where we inevitably start all over again. First, the beautious new posters for the film, featuring the star-studded cast of superheroic figures of past and present, among which are a few actors that many Rider fans never believed they'd see again. Oh yes. From left to r...

MegaBots: Because Death By Natural Causes Sounded Too Easy

In Mobile Suit Gundam, Pacific Rim, and Super Sentai, giant robots wreak havoc across burning landscapes under flashes of lightning and the roar of mechanized battlecries passionately echoing across their battlefields. The concept of such a thing happening in reality seems farfetched and fraught with so many potential problems that it makes the pursuit of such a future seem like it may not really be worth the effort. Enter MegaBots Inc., who puts forth the effort so we don't have to, to results that, if nothing else, are certainly interesting. In 2015, the tech company issued a challenge to Japan's Suidobashi Heavy Industry to do battle, pitting the giant robots representing each group against each other. Despite the fact that this is clearly insane, they agreed, and so the fight was ...

As we hit the gong on this drama-filled half-hour, the identity of Night Rogue is finally revealed, an angry Ryuuga goes ape, and a sad panda fights a losing battle in a strange land. It's just another day at the mad scientist's office for Kamen Rider Build, in Episode 7! For those of us still keeping score, this makes seven straight episodes now that Kamen Rider Build has directly affected the main plot of the series and moved us forward at a strong pace. At some point, I may get sick of pointing this out, but today is not that day. I'm still tickled pink at the prospect of a Kamen Rider show with at least 40-something episodes of pure development and very little fat to trim. It's been fivever since I was this engaged, and I don't want the ride to stop. We begin with Ryuuga impati...

Prepare to free your mind, as the popular Mob Psycho 100 manga is now being adapted to live-action. Courtesy of ONE, of One-Punch Man fame, the original web-comic series has already taken the anime world by storm, and now, with help from some friends in the explosive worlds of Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, and more, the property is set to make its live-action debut on Netflix. In the lead role, as psychic middle schooler Mob, is Tatsuomi Hamada, best known to some as Riku, the title hero of Ultraman Geed. It may come as no surprise that Hamada was chosen for the part, considering both Geed and Mob Psycho share the same series director in Koichi Sakamoto, whose street cred stretches far and wide in the live-action special effects genre, from Power Rangers and Super Sentai to ...

However, Alien Zarab will be made into a S.H.Figuarts, as its original self! Now, Alien Zarab made its debut in the original Ultraman series, in episode 18 "Brother from Another Planet." In the episode, Alien Zarab poses as a friendly alien trying to help mankind, but secretly plans to conquer the world. The official romanization of Kamen Rider Build's secondary Kamen Rider hero was revealed by an official underwear, of all things. For months, fans speculated and wondered how to write the show's 2nd Kamen Rider, giving us Kamen Rider Clothes, Close, Claws and something quite close to the real name, with Cross. As revealed in the underwear, the official romanization of the show's second Rider is: Kamen Rider Cross-Z. Kamen Rider Cross-Z uses the Cross-Z Dragon to transform by inserting the Dragon Full Bottle in it and inserting it on the Build Driver. This Kamen Rider is expected to debut in November.   [Source: Build Rider News]

Voltron: Legendary Defender is back at it, with another burst of hilarity and excitement in the show's fourth season on Netflix. And, as we hunkered down to catch up with the heroic, space-faring Paladins of Voltron and their robotic lions, we were treated to a special episode that some of us in the tokusatsu fandom couldn't help but find a bit familiar. While there are plenty easy comparisons to be made between them and the multi-colored Teenagers With Attitude of the live-action Power Rangers franchise (and their Super Sentai cousins from across the pond), none would be so bold as with this season's striking fourth episode, "The Voltron Show". We're not just throwing shade, folks. We're launching it out of a circus cannon to the tune of a full-scale marching band. And the result, true ...
