I used to think that every facet of my geekiness had to be kept separate from each other. I’ve had experiences of other geeks judging me, saying my actions or interests were “too geeky” for them, but that is a story for another time. This story is about conventions. Several years ago, I began to attend conventions. Specifically, the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) and Anime Central (ACen), each for the first time in the same year, and I mistakenly thought that C2E2 was only for pop culture things like comics and books while ACen was only for anime. Hold onto your Pocky, anime fans. Batman is coming back to the Japanese animation world with an all-new project, descending upon us in 2018. This time, he brings with him a pool of talent that gave us the likes of the animated Afro Samurai as well as the special effects actioner Kamen Rider Fourze. While Batman inches one step closer to his apparent goal of filling every possible screen on every continent at the exact same time, here's a brief rundown of what we know so far. New York Comic-Con presents a batch of new Power Rangers merchandise to add to your collection, and we'll give you zero guesses about which season they've chosen to showcase the most. Check out this new action figure set as well as a sweet, new Megazord and let's wonder together when we're getting around to some of those other seasons. To be fair, Bandai has announced a number of special items in recent years ranging across a few different beloved seasons, and the Fighting Spirit set technically encompasses multiple incarnations (all centered around one dude) but none so prevalent as the unstoppable Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Bandai's golden goose, Tommy Oliver.
