Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Rabbit Tank Sparkling

Kamen Rider Build's first major upgrade form is Rabbit Tank Sparkling! The show's toy line celebrates this new form with one of its first deviations from the standard Full Bottle gimmick. This "soda can" functions similarly to the Cross Dragon, having its own lights and sounds that work in tandem with the Build Driver to make its own unique henshin and finisher. The jingle is awesome and the light effects are incredible. This item feels powerful compared to the Full Bottles, and the sounds enhance that feeling. It's also nice to have a unique finishing sound for a change. Overall, this is a must own for anyone who has the DX Build Driver. Its a great toy and a nice change from the standard gimmick, plus it has some interactive functionality with future toys being released (but more on...

Kamen Rider Build appears to be Rider Kicking butt on the sales charts, if Toys R Us' figures are any indication. The toy vendor juggernaut recently held a poll with shoppers asking them to vote on their favorite items available at their local store, and the results are in. Which Rider item crushed the competition, driving through to the top spot? Was it the HawkGatlinger, Sento's rapid-fire weapon of choice when he wants to deliver some righteous gunkata moves on fleets of robotic adversaries? Or maybe the Transteam Blade proved a cut above the rest, used by the nefarious Night Rogue and his on-again/off-again partner in crime Blood Stalk? Nah, let's go with something a bit more classic. LiveDoor had these results to share, revealing the three most beloved pieces in the Toys R Us cat...

The Power Rangers brand is having something of a silent renaissance of late. While the television series has gone on for years, almost invisible to most adults yet never off the airwaves with new episodes for more than a single year since the franchise's start in the early 90s, the Rangers have branched out considerably to other entertainment mediums, often with strong results. The Teenagers With Attitude, and the many young adults that launched from their footsteps in the years after Angel Grove was a mere glimmer in their visors' display panel, dominated the attention of many curious watchers this year, whether it be on our phones with games like Power Rangers Legacy Wars, or on the big screen with the franchise's first feature-length movie in decades. There's also Power Rangers Hyp...

Today, Erasu tweeted out the finalized promotional images for the next Super Sentai Super Mini-Pla toy releases! These new Super Mini-Pla sets are based on LiveRobo and Live Boxer from Choujuu Sentai Liveman. The images show that both LiveRobo and Live Boxer will be able to combine into Super LiveRobo. Pre-orders for both items have now opened up at online retailers with the intended release for March 2018. However, Super Mini-Pla Live Boxer is P-Bandai exclusive, which means it harder to obtain and higher in price. Below are image galleries for both mechas:   Super Mini-Pla Liverobo Super Mini-Pla Live Boxer   For those who have not seen, Choujuu Sentai Liveman is the 12th installment in the Super Sentai series. The series consists of 49 episodes, and ran from Feb...
Review: Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger DX Kojishi Voyager

Review: Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger DX Kojishi Voyager

Reviews, Super Sentai, Toku, toku, Toys, Uncategorized
Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger's DX toy line has been pretty hit-and-miss as a whole, but it ends really strong with Kojishi Voyager, aka Caesar. Caesar is a small chibi-like lion toy, similar to Mini-Tyra from Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, but instead of combining with a weapon, he combines with a fellow Voyager mech. On its own, I like this little guy, but the real fun begins when you add Shishi Voyager to the mix. Combining the two Voyagers together makes Super Shishi Voyager, my favorite form. This is an amazing form, changing the look of Shishi Voyager from a spaceship with a lion head into a full-fledged lion mecha. The size and silhouette of this thing is great, though I can see fans being bummed out by the lack of articulation. Overall, I think, combined, this is the best Voyager of the wh...

Review: Kamen Rider Build DX Legend Rider Full Bottle Sets

Kamen Rider, Reviews, toku, Toys, Uncategorized
With any gimmick-heavy Kamen Rider series comes the "Legend Rider" merchandise. Basically, this means the fans can get a taste of some of the older Kamen Riders in their new driver toy. Kamen Rider Build, however, does something very clever with its Legend Rider gimmick that very few seasons can match. Here we have the Ex-aid Full Bottle set and the W Full Bottle set. Ex-Aid is broken up in to the DX Doctor Full Bottle and the DX Game Full Bottle, while W is broken up into the DX Tantei (Detective) and DX USB Memory Full Bottles. This is awesome as it both encapsulates the core of Build's gimmick, being organic and inorganic objects coming together, and the main themes of the individual series. Overall, these are great for any Kamen Rider Ex-Aid or Kamen Rider W fans. It's great to remin...

In Ultraman Fusion Fight, the towering monsters of the Ultra Series multiverse and the giant heroes who defend against them are swept up in a battle for supremacy. As modern Ultraman features characters whose strange and varied forms are combined and manipulated into new "fusions", this arcade-style Carddass game capitalizes on that feature to the Nth degree, constantly updating with newer and more bizarre meldings of popular figures from their decades-spanning franchise. Including those of 2017's Ultraman Geed and 2016's Ultraman Orb. If the name Carddass makes you think of aliens from Star Trek rather than the mechanics of the game, fret not. As far back as 1988, toy behemoth Bandai has consistently released new DataCarddass collectible trading cards, based upon many well-known prop...

Looks like Kamen Rider Den-O's not the only one who starts on a climax. The toy lords of Premium Bandai have gifted us a mighty prize in this new, prestigious depiction of the towering lizard from 2016's smash hit Shin Godzilla, as shown in the exciting final act of the film. In which, the famous King of Monsters is seen firing his atomic beam, for this film given a distinct, purple glow, with an unnerving, elongated jaw. Check him out. Comparing the size of this item with the previously released Movie Monster Series Godzilla, Kaiju-Oh reaches nearly 11 inches in height, almost twice the size of the figure from its sister line. Wreaking giant-sized havoc in March 2018, the Kaiju-Oh 2016 Godzilla Climax Ver. is available now for pre-order and is priced at 7,560 yen.
Review: Kamen Rider Build SODO Figures Wave 2

Review: Kamen Rider Build SODO Figures Wave 2

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
Well, the time has finally come. Wave 2 of the Kamen Rider Build SODO figures is here! Much like wave 1, I'm nitpicking at best to find anything negative to say. This time around, we get 7 boxes and 4 figures instead of the prior 6 boxes and 3 figures. The 4 figures are HawkGatling, NinninComic, RocketPanda and our first villain, Night Rogue. Every figure is excellent in detail, articulation and accuracy, once again I find it very, very difficult to say anything negative about these figures, even the price is great. Overall, once again, these are the best Build figures on the market and I can't recommend them enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX_a8m5W1jk For this and other Kamen Rider and Tokusatsu merchandise, check out CSToys and BigBadToyStore.
