Well, here's a fun bit of trivia for you. Power Rangers, the 2017 reimagining of the 90s TV phenomenon Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which hit theaters early this year, is currently enjoying a higher audience score with review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes than the new, highly-anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Cause for celebration for those in some geek circles. Cause for alarm in others. And others still meet this "news" with an understandable shrug and scroll. Here's why I think this little factoid may be interesting. ComicBook.com noted that the latest entry in the beloved space fantasy is sitting pretty with an extremely encouraging 93% critics score, and an audience score that rests in the mid-to-upper 50s. Meanwhile, the Teenagers with Attitude have garnered a somewhat less mor...

And the drama just keeps unraveling for the crew of the Amazon Japan streaming series, Kamen Rider Amazons, as they rev up for their feature film event. Marking Toei Co's first major foray into live-action special effects television produced primarily for online streaming, Amazons is based upon the decades-long Kamen Rider action franchise, but with a somewhat darker tone than your candy-coated family-friendly adventures of today. If you ask me, it's really just early 2000s Kamen Rider with an extended runtime, but then, I suppose the era where that sort of intense drama, coupled with sometimes violent or risque content, is no longer suitable for Sunday Morning broadcast. So, why not leapfrog that platform altogether and go out with a bang on the biggest screen possible? Kamen Rider A...

Kamen Rider Build appears to be Rider Kicking butt on the sales charts, if Toys R Us' figures are any indication. The toy vendor juggernaut recently held a poll with shoppers asking them to vote on their favorite items available at their local store, and the results are in. Which Rider item crushed the competition, driving through to the top spot? Was it the HawkGatlinger, Sento's rapid-fire weapon of choice when he wants to deliver some righteous gunkata moves on fleets of robotic adversaries? Or maybe the Transteam Blade proved a cut above the rest, used by the nefarious Night Rogue and his on-again/off-again partner in crime Blood Stalk? Nah, let's go with something a bit more classic. LiveDoor had these results to share, revealing the three most beloved pieces in the Toys R Us cat...

There'll be plenty of holiday cheer in the M-78 Nebula as Ultraman Taro, the sixth in the long-lasting Ultra Series, makes its way to Blu-ray this season. Relive all the classic monster-fighting action, or experience it for the first time, as Higashi Kotaro joins the cosmic Ultra Brothers in their neverending battle to protect the innocent from the vile menace of giant monsters plaguing the Earth. The 1973 series was the tenth anniversary work of Tsuburaya Productions, hoping to bring back a lighter touch to the Ultra canon after a somewhat dark tone had been taken with the previous title, Ultraman Ace. Sadly, this proved only to chase away adult viewers of the time, leading to the decidedly more mature Ultraman Leo the following year. Taro serves as a fascinating artifact of the era ...

Kamen Rider tops the Japanese box office again, with this final phase of the Heisei Era putting a cap on the current chapter of their long-running superhero franchise. Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FINAL: Build & Ex-Aid with Legend Riders came in at #1 on the charts last week, surpassing the success of last year's annual winter crossover event, proving the lone masked heroes (when brought together so as not to be quite so lone anymore) still have what it takes to capture an audience. As previously mentioned, the film gathers the title heroes from several past incarnations of the long and storied Rider saga, returning a number of lead stars (and multiple supporting actors) to our screens for one last hurrah (for now). Among them were Fukushi Sato as Gentaro aka high school student...
