The Twitch role-playing game series Power Rangers HyperForce returns with its fourth installment, welcoming actress Karan Ashley to their table for the show's latest special guest appearance. Taking over for original Yellow Ranger Trini, played by Thuy Trang, Karan portrayed the new girl Aisha, in the second and third seasons of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, in the interim starring in the show's first feature adaptation, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. She joins the HyperForce crew for another three-hour tour through the Power Rangers Universe from the lens of tabletop role-play.
And if that doesn't add enough Hype to your Force, take a gander at this fan-made animated opening sequence from HJU's own Japanime.
Power Rangers HyperForce is back with another episode of tabletop role-playing, presented by HyperRPG and Twitch. Not to be outdone by episode two's Halloween adventure, the Time Force recruits aren't done tangling with well-known monsters. In this installment, they ask: Whatever happened to Scorpina? The gold-encrusted supervillainess plagued the nightmares of the Teenagers With Attitude in the early 90s on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, almost taking them out for good on some occasions, but then she just kinda... stopped showing up.
As we ponder that question and more, the answers may await in the third episode of this new series.
Power Rangers HyperForce streams live every Tuesday at 9PM PT from HyperRPG.

Have we had enough Green Ranger controversy yet?
Adding on to the pile this year, we have a puzzling interaction between two martial arts action stars near the shallow end of the popularity pool, both of which having gained a sizable chunk of their notoriety in the early 1990s. Belgian entertainer Jean-Claude Van Damme for his plethora of cinematic actioners in the age of neon and slap bracelets, and actor-turned-MMA-fighter Jason David Frank of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fame. While we'd like to believe this conflict started when someone challenged them to count up the letters in the multitude of names between them to see which one has the lengthiest identifier, we're afraid this well runs a bit deeper.
It's actually been a few years since the feud of the initial-named butt-kick...

The Power Rangers are no strangers to the world of villainy, each week facing off against a fresh adversary with dark intentions, typically under the direction of a sinister overlord with a master plan just waiting to be foiled by those pesky, multi-colored younglings in spandex. As Halloween has now come upon us, what better time to talk about monsters than on the week we'll likely have seen more of them than any other? We're here to talk about bad guys. Ranking the best (or worst, if you prefer) enemies our costumed heroes have encountered in their decades-spanning adventures.
And for the purposes of this handy list, we'll define "best" in general terms. We're not necessarily talking about who's the strongest physically or who can rack up the most experience points against their sup...

2017 has been a banner year for the Power Rangers brand. With a line of successful comics from Boom! Studios, a new web-based RPG series debuting this week, the television branch still trucking after all these years, and a whole slew of merchandise waiting to be scooped up by Ranger fans young and old, the franchise would appear to be firing on all cylinders. Unless, of course, you have a glance at Saban's Power Rangers, the Lionsgate film that released in theaters earlier this year to mixed reactions. While many of us loved the Rangers' latest cinematic offering, there may be some who see this particular branch of the franchise as one that can be cut off at the base.
Trademarkia lists the logo for Saban's Power Rangers as abandoned by original owners SCG Power Rangers LLC. Which woul...
In 1983, a group of five heroic inventors united against the evil Jashinka Empire in Kagaku Sentai Dynaman. Three years later, their harrowing adventures were broadcast for American audiences as part of the USA network's Night Flight block. Simply titled Dynaman, this was a parody series capitalizing on the apparent B-movie aesthetic and playing up the silliest aspects of the show. A precursor to 1993's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, this was among the first times Super Sentai would be viewed by American masses, albeit in an altered form. My, how things have changed. But if you want a taste of what it was like for potential tokusatsu fans back in the day, Dynaman is now available to watch online.
Courtesy of Night Flight Plus, the Dynaman dub is viewable now, with three episodes. Curio...
