Toy Review: UCHUU SENTAI KYURANGER YUDO Figures Wave 1

Do you like the Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger TV series? Do you like the SODO toy line? Well then this set... is still pretty terrible, I can't recommend it at all. Yudo is the Super Sentai franchise's attempt at matching the success of Kamen Rider's SODO line, but with a fourth of the figures, half the quality and care, yet selling for the exact same price. Wave 1 (the first and last wave, at least for Kyuranger) consists of Shishi Red, Shishi Red Orion, and Hooh Soldier. These figures are sculpted just fine and articulate well but my compliments end there. The plastic quality is absolute garbage and the figures have zero paint applications, in favor of a figure that needs to be 100% stickered up. The SODO line, for the same price, does half paint and half stickers, not to mention the be...

Review: Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger DX Kojishi Voyager

Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger's DX toy line has been pretty hit-and-miss as a whole, but it ends really strong with Kojishi Voyager, aka Caesar. Caesar is a small chibi-like lion toy, similar to Mini-Tyra from Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, but instead of combining with a weapon, he combines with a fellow Voyager mech. On its own, I like this little guy, but the real fun begins when you add Shishi Voyager to the mix. Combining the two Voyagers together makes Super Shishi Voyager, my favorite form. This is an amazing form, changing the look of Shishi Voyager from a spaceship with a lion head into a full-fledged lion mecha. The size and silhouette of this thing is great, though I can see fans being bummed out by the lack of articulation. Overall, I think, combined, this is the best Voyager of the wh...

Review: Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger DX Saiko Kyutama

Super Sentai, Toku, Toys
Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger has been running for 30 episodes and the Kyutama gimmick has been stale for a while now, but thankfully the Saiko Kyutama changes the game! This Kyutama is huge and stylized to really stand out from the bunch with its red coloring and beautiful blue ring. It also has its own electronics but unlike the Hikari Kyutama that tried (and failed) to work its sounds in tandem with the Seiza Blaster, the Saiko Kyutama tells the Seiza Blaster to sit back, relax and let it handle all the awesome new sounds. So what can it do? Well, for starters we have 5 attacks with just the Kyutama itself, these have yet to be seen in the show (as of this recording) so we don't know what they do just yet. After you insert it into the Seiza Blaster (or hold the button down with your fin...
