Power Rangers: Legacy Wars just got a Super Mega investment. The mobile game, based on the live-action television hero brand Power Rangers, sees characters both virtuous and villainous battle it out for supremacy across a grand canvas of recognizable environments upon which to wage their war of legacies. This week, the cinematic overlords who brought us the 2017 Power Rangers movie brought a bountiful gift to the game that ensures its continued success into the new year.
The Hollywood Reporter brings us the story, as Lionsgate presides over a deal between March Capital Partners and Ridge Ventures. The two firms teamed up with the gamesters at nWay, providing an investment deal to the sweet tune of $11 million. The game developer continues to expand upon the strength of Legacy Wars, wh...
The Power Rangers brand is having something of a silent renaissance of late. While the television series has gone on for years, almost invisible to most adults yet never off the airwaves with new episodes for more than a single year since the franchise's start in the early 90s, the Rangers have branched out considerably to other entertainment mediums, often with strong results.
The Teenagers With Attitude, and the many young adults that launched from their footsteps in the years after Angel Grove was a mere glimmer in their visors' display panel, dominated the attention of many curious watchers this year, whether it be on our phones with games like Power Rangers Legacy Wars, or on the big screen with the franchise's first feature-length movie in decades. There's also Power Rangers Hyp...
The Power Rangers are no strangers to the world of villainy, each week facing off against a fresh adversary with dark intentions, typically under the direction of a sinister overlord with a master plan just waiting to be foiled by those pesky, multi-colored younglings in spandex. As Halloween has now come upon us, what better time to talk about monsters than on the week we'll likely have seen more of them than any other? We're here to talk about bad guys. Ranking the best (or worst, if you prefer) enemies our costumed heroes have encountered in their decades-spanning adventures.
And for the purposes of this handy list, we'll define "best" in general terms. We're not necessarily talking about who's the strongest physically or who can rack up the most experience points against their sup...

The hits just keep on coming for the new Kamen Rider Build, as Sento flies higher, the story goes deeper, and one character may find out just how much chains and guns excite them.
After trolling Ryuuga through another flawless recap, Sento kicks us off by holding Kamen Rider 101 with his star pupil (doubtlessly because he's the only one there), Ryuuga himself. He goes over the chain of events that have lead us to this point, searching for Nabeshima, the man who knocked out Ryuuga before Faust could haul him off to the monster farm. This scene is so ridiculous. I don't even know how it's possible that Ryuuga doesn't understand his own backstory, which he lived through and remembers perfectly well now, and yet he needs Sento to go over it all again, complete with a marker board and visu...
Well, this is hilarious. Two episodes after we issue criticisms at Ultraman Geed, the latest entry into the Ultraman franchise, for its lack of punch, they serve up what is quite easily their greatest effort to date. Not only is it the most stylish, action-packed episode so far, it disperses story concerns that were mounting in the lead-up to this installment. Nice timing.
Director Taguchi Kiyotaka infuses the episode with a visual flair unlike any of Geed's previous chapters, proving exactly why the Ultra franchise needs to keep this man onboard as long as they can. From the tense dialogue sequences between the devilish Kei and the show's plucky young hero Asuka to the high-octane battle sequences both above and within the crumbling city, "The Geed Identity" is a cut above the rest.
It just struck me how fun it would be to speculate or make up our own fiction on how Rangers might return for the Anniversary Power Ranger season.. Power Rangers MegaForce Season 2.
I startd with TJ, either taking over as the Red Space Ranger or traveling the world in Lightning Cruiser. (more…)
