Never underestimate toy company Bandai's ability to turn a mundane inanimate object into an uber-powerful super-weapon. You'll lose every bet you make against them. And so, we continue our hike through the tense valley of story that is the Kamen Rider Build television series. In what has got to be the most well-written opening act of any incarnation in the Kamen Rider franchise, we're treated to a funny, surprising, character-driven yet action-packed experience that punches you in the gut seconds after it uplifts. This is a master-class in how to produce special effects TV, and somehow, we're still just getting started. Fists are flying in this episode of Kamen Rider Build. After a slightly weaker entry for the previous week, we come back as strong as ever with another fantastic installment in this series that continues to rock my socks. Build, where have you been all my life? Returning us to where we left off, Episode 6 begins with Ryuuga continuing to follow Tatsuya, whom he had deliberately re-infected with Smash essence, turning him back into a brainwashed monster. Good riddance! After Ryuuga finds himself surrounded, Build comes through with a surprising rescue. Despite getting kn...

Every year, we get our gimmick line of figures. These figures are meant to emulate the form changes that we see on the show and every year it's a coin flip if these figures will be good or not. Unfortunately, for this year's Kamen Rider Build, we lost that flip, in my opinion. The BCR (Bottle Change Rider) line forgoes 2 major points of articulation, in the waist and head, to achieve its form-swapping. The arms and legs are great, they're pretty standard for the yearly gimmick line, but without waist or head movement, posing and playing with this figure isn't a fun time at all. Aesthetically he looks great, bright red and blue, even the belt is painted which is a rarity in these lines of figures. He comes with his Drill Crusher as well, unpainted as usual, it's permanently in its swo...
