Recording artist and tokusatsu fan Ricardo Cruz is back again, with another offering of musical splendor for fellow devotees of all things loud and explodey. This time, he jumps from one end of the global entertainment pond to the other. Instead of tackling hits from Japanese action titles like Kamen Rider and Space Sheriff, he's teleporting into the midst of the Teenagers With Attitude themselves: the original high school heroes of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Taking his their cue from the seminal opening theme track by Ron Wasserman, Cruz and his team are offering their own take on the iconic song that kicked off a new era in kids live-action entertainment for many viewers in the western world. Check it out.

... Okay, maybe that title was a little over-the-top, but I just couldn't help myself.
Part of me has dreaded tackling this review. As a longtime fan of the Power Rangers franchise, it's not always easy to bring tough criticism to this thing I've loved for years, a huge influence on my life and how I see the world. It's even worse knowing that a number of people may have hoped to hear something quite different from me on this subject, and would be waiting to get my take on such a momentous occasion as this, the 25th Anniversary special episode. Certainly, it'll be an unpopular opinion with some, a few of which I'd count as friends. It's worse even still when one takes into account my opinion of the current season, Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel.
The brutal truth is that I hesitate...
It's that time again. A new Power Rangers incarnation is on the horizon, and fitting with recent tradition, we're treated to an early trailer of what lies ahead for us in the coming year for this long-running franchise. In keeping with that tradition, of course, this video features no footage of any members of our new super-team, as it debuted at this month's Power Morphicon event so early that no actual scenes had yet been shot with them. What we do have is lots and lots of footage from 2012's Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, the 36th installment in Japan's Super Sentai brand, from which Power Rangers gets much of its action visuals.
Power Rangers is such a unique animal when it comes to modern entertainment, a hybrid between Japanese-produced fight scenes from Toei Company and American-fu...
The new Dino Mega Charge fanfilm brings standout heroes of two entries in the recent Saban Brands era of the Power Rangers franchise together for the first time in live-action, fighting evil once again. This time, they face an enemy from distant Ranger history in the form of the Wizard of Deception of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Brennan Mejia slips back into the spandex of Red Ranger Tyler Navarro from Power Rangers Dino Charge. And we can't get enough of Ciara Hanna lately, as she comes back for another mini-production playing in the Ranger sandbox, as Yellow Ranger Gia Moran from Power Rangers Megaforce.
Tyler and Gia are BACK to join forces against an old enemy from the Mighty Morphin' days, the Wizard of Deception. But what what will they do when t...
Everybody's passing out anniversaries this summer. Whether you're a longtime fan of Kamen Rider and hyped for the nostalgic rollercoaster sure to roll out from the latest Kamen Rider Zi-O, or are a fan of their American cousins in live-action, the Power Rangers, it's not the worst time to be someone who can quote whole episodes that aired years ago on command. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Ranger franchise, the current Teenagers with Attitude (or something) and some of their predecessors are meeting up for the sort of adventure that is rather rare these days. At least as far as their television exploits are concerned.
We're speaking, naturally, of the special crossover episode of the Nickelodeon and Saban Brands title Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel, which promises to ...
The geek multiverse is slowly fusing.
Already, fans of the popular Power Rangers: Legacy Wars mobile game were treated to an unexpected announcement that several characters from the enduring Street Fighter franchise would be invading the Morphin Grid as selectable fighters among the game's roster of combatants duking it out for supremacy. Saban Brands, current torchbearer for the Power Rangers franchise, is closing its doors this summer, with a series of layoffs that will leave 60 persons searching for new employment after the acquisition of their famous property by toy powerhouse Hasbro. It's uncertain whether any of Saban's current staff will transfer over to Hasbro's new initiative, but speculation continues to run rampant about the future of the Power Rangers banner.
Los Angeles Business Journal marks July 1, 2018 as the official closing date for the company.
Meanwhile, fans will have the premiere of Power Rangers Beast Morphers to look forward to in 2019.

The Power Rangers franchise surely isn't messing around this year, is it? I can't walk three steps without tripping over some new announcement concerning the spandex-clad heroes that have filled my imagination since the early 1990s with adventure and charm. No sooner than I've let it sink in that Saban Brands has broken up with its longtime collaborator in the toy world, Bandai America, over their joint custodianship of Power Rangers, my brain is further scrambled by the news that toy company Hasbro is about to pick up the slack. Shortly after, we hear that not only will they be continuing to provide toys and merchandise for this enduring media franchise, but they'll just go ahead and take that media part too. Goodness me, what is a fan to make of all these rapid changes?!

Are we all caught up on Power Rangers HyperForce? No? Well, what are you waiting for? The Hyper RPG show based on the Power Rangers TV saga is ramping up toward the end of their season. But before we hit the climax of their time-trekking journey, we'll briefly look back on some of the memorable bits from the story so far.
The live gamesters at HyperForce were given a shock as a new player entered the arena in the form of Yoshi Sudarso, the Blue Ranger of Power Rangers Dino Charge. You'd think his brother Peter Sudarso, current Blue Ranger of Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel, would have known ahead of time that Yoshi would be making his first appearance on the show some weeks ago. But what fun would that be, eh?
For posterity, we may either relive or experience for the first time, th...
