International action star Keanu Reeves meets his match when he comes face-to-face with the man, the myth, the legend, Sonny Chiba. While doing press in Japan, the John Wick leading man was asked about one of his personal heroes, and he began to gush about the martial arts legend, only to be shocked by the sudden entrance of Chiba himself. The result is worthy of Reeves' trademark "Whoa". Sonny Chiba became a superstar in his own right, leaping from one action role to another over the course of decades, including the classic ninja film series Shadow Warriors, which inspired filmmaker Quentin Tarantino to cast the actor as his original character's own descendant in the Kill Bill saga. Of special interest to us here at Henshin Justice Unlimited, he also starred in the 1966 Golden Bat ...

This live-action adaptation of the eponymous manga and anime sees title character Mob forced to unleash his considerable psychic powers, to what may be disastrous effects on the fragile world around him. A glimpse into that world, which already appears to be crumbling under the weight of some pretty immense psionic energy, can be found in this newly-released poster. As previously reported, Tatsuomi is joined by his series director from Ultraman Geed, Sakamoto Koichi, whose list of credits in the world of live-action special effects is as long as Geed's finisher beam, including such illustrious titles as Power Rangers, Su...

Wedding bells are ringing this season as two actors from the long-running Super Sentai television franchise have just announced that they've tied the knot. In 2012's Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger, Wada Masato played the lead hero Akagi Nobuo aka Akiba Red in his late night parody series. In the very same year, Yoshiki Risa was holding it down for the mainstream series Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters as Sakurada Rika, big sister of Sakurada Hiromu, Red Buster himself. Suffice it to say, there's a lot of red in this new super-family. The announcement came on November 22, 2017 with a photo of the happy couple. Truly, the fulfillment of a dream for the diehard Super Sentai fanboy, Nobuo. We wish Wada and Yoshiki all the best.   You might also like: Talk About Lucky! (That’s an Ord...

Have we had enough Green Ranger controversy yet? Adding on to the pile this year, we have a puzzling interaction between two martial arts action stars near the shallow end of the popularity pool, both of which having gained a sizable chunk of their notoriety in the early 1990s. Belgian entertainer Jean-Claude Van Damme for his plethora of cinematic actioners in the age of neon and slap bracelets, and actor-turned-MMA-fighter Jason David Frank of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fame. While we'd like to believe this conflict started when someone challenged them to count up the letters in the multitude of names between them to see which one has the lengthiest identifier, we're afraid this well runs a bit deeper. It's actually been a few years since the feud of the initial-named butt-kick...
