Review: Kamen Rider Build SODO Figures Wave 3

Kamen Rider Build goes 3 for 3 with its SODO toy line, hitting yet another home run. This set is the first one where I highly recommend getting a case, since you will need duplicates. This set consists of 3 and a half figures: Build LionShoubosha form, KeyDragon form, half of Cross-Z and Blood Stark (I still refuse to call him Stalk). Both Cross-Z and KeyDragon require Build's Dragon half to be complete, so to have both figures proudly displayed in your collection, you're gonna need 2 Dragon boxes. Luckily, cases come with 3, so you'll even have an extra, just in case. All the figures are beautifully articulated and the stickers are fantastic. If you use my clear coat nail polish method as well, they'll stay on nice and strong. So again, this is a must own for any Build fan. https://you...

Review: Kamen Rider Build DX Kaizoku Densha Full Bottle Set & DX Kaizoku Hassher

Kamen Rider Build is winding down its Full Bottle toy gimmick in favor of other objects to be placed inside the Build Driver item, but before we move on from Full Bottles, we have a few more forms left. This one is KaizokuRessha, a combination of Kaizoku (pirate) and Densha (train). This is another solid set of Full Bottles. By now, you know what to expect with this gimmick, so you're either in or out, at this point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-FFKUgwxVE Build's last 1st quarter weapon is the Kaizoku Hassher, to go along with the KaizokuRessha form. This toy, like most others in the line, is underwhelming. It's cheap enough though, so the toy doesn't feel like a waste of money, but it's definitely not for most collectors. You get 6 basic sound effects with this toy. A blunt melee...

Kamen Rider Build's BCR toy line is pretty bad. Honestly, I bowed out after the first figure in favor of the SODO line, but Bandai is smarter than that. How do they get you to purchase an accessory for your crappy BCR figures? Well, include an exclusive Full Bottle, of course! Darn you, Bandai. Anyway, here we have the DX Build Phone and Lion Full Bottle. The phone itself is bad, but accurate. The phone in the show is a cluttered mess and this one is too, so I guess I can't use that against the toy. By pressing the "call" button you can get various lines of dialogue from lead character Sento. Not much more to say about the phone mode, it's a phone. Transformation is simple enough and kinda show-accurate. It folds out like it does in the show but obviously the model in the show is repl...

Review: Kamen Rider Build DX Cross Dragon, DX Beat Crosser (Closer), DX Lock Full Bottle

Blog
Kamen Rider Build introduces its second Rider with a Build Driver add-on toy, Cross-Z's Cross Dragon. Now the Cross Dragon can be purchased with or without the Beat Crosser (Closer), more on that later, but the Dragon itself is a neat little item. Reminiscent of the "gadget" toys from Kamen Rider W, Kamen Rider OOO, Kamen Rider Fourze, Kamen Rider Wizard, and Kamen Rider Ghost, the Dragon is pretty small, though less articulated than its predecessors. It's more or less a brick with an articulated neck and tail, but that's mostly for transformation. So pose-ability is a bust but how about sound effects? Well, on its own, the Dragon makes two very recognizable sounds from the show when the big, red button is pushed. After inserting a Full Bottle (any one, this toy can't read the gimm...

Review: Kamen Rider Build DX Legend Rider Full Bottle Sets

Kamen Rider, Reviews, toku, Toys, Uncategorized
With any gimmick-heavy Kamen Rider series comes the "Legend Rider" merchandise. Basically, this means the fans can get a taste of some of the older Kamen Riders in their new driver toy. Kamen Rider Build, however, does something very clever with its Legend Rider gimmick that very few seasons can match. Here we have the Ex-aid Full Bottle set and the W Full Bottle set. Ex-Aid is broken up in to the DX Doctor Full Bottle and the DX Game Full Bottle, while W is broken up into the DX Tantei (Detective) and DX USB Memory Full Bottles. This is awesome as it both encapsulates the core of Build's gimmick, being organic and inorganic objects coming together, and the main themes of the individual series. Overall, these are great for any Kamen Rider Ex-Aid or Kamen Rider W fans. It's great to remin...

Looks like Kamen Rider Den-O's not the only one who starts on a climax. The toy lords of Premium Bandai have gifted us a mighty prize in this new, prestigious depiction of the towering lizard from 2016's smash hit Shin Godzilla, as shown in the exciting final act of the film. In which, the famous King of Monsters is seen firing his atomic beam, for this film given a distinct, purple glow, with an unnerving, elongated jaw. Check him out. Comparing the size of this item with the previously released Movie Monster Series Godzilla, Kaiju-Oh reaches nearly 11 inches in height, almost twice the size of the figure from its sister line. Wreaking giant-sized havoc in March 2018, the Kaiju-Oh 2016 Godzilla Climax Ver. is available now for pre-order and is priced at 7,560 yen.

Review: Kamen Rider Build SODO Figures Wave 2

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
Well, the time has finally come. Wave 2 of the Kamen Rider Build SODO figures is here! Much like wave 1, I'm nitpicking at best to find anything negative to say. This time around, we get 7 boxes and 4 figures instead of the prior 6 boxes and 3 figures. The 4 figures are HawkGatling, NinninComic, RocketPanda and our first villain, Night Rogue. Every figure is excellent in detail, articulation and accuracy, once again I find it very, very difficult to say anything negative about these figures, even the price is great. Overall, once again, these are the best Build figures on the market and I can't recommend them enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX_a8m5W1jk For this and other Kamen Rider and Tokusatsu merchandise, check out CSToys and BigBadToyStore.

On a day unlike any other, he came, he saw, he died like a hundred times. It's the maniacal Dan Kuroto, the sometimes antiheroic, always antihumble video game supervillain known as Kamen Rider Genm, in his twisted Dangerous Zombie form from the Kamen Rider Ex-Aid TV series. And here to give us a taste of what we may be coughing up our hard-earned coin for is toy reviewer extraordinaire Vangelus, ready to drop some knowledge bombs down your drainpipe, with no continues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N22ULPlYnWM For this and other Kamen Rider and Tokusatsu merchandise, check out CSToys and BigBadToyStore.

At last, his magnificence is upon us. Like a bat out of Faust's evil underground lair, the villainous Night Rogue emerges from the Kamen Rider Build television series, finally getting his shine with this S.H. Figuarts item from toy godsend Bandai Tamashii Nations.   Recently revealed as Himuro Gentoku, the duplicitous son of the Touto Prime Minister, Night Rogue acts as a leading member of the shadow organization Faust, conducting dangerous experiments on human subjects. And, in keeping with classic Kamen Rider tradition, as a key antagonist of the show, his theme is that of the bat. With a pose that screams "come at me, bro", this bad mamma-jamma is armed with his Steam Blade and Transteam Gun. These weapons combine to form the Steam Rifle. And did I mention the steam?...
