LadyMercury Reviews: Kamen Rider Den-O DX Belt

2 04 2007

Posted by Ladymercury

That had to be one of the most awesome and adorable reviews our fandom has ever produced… and informative! Den-O’s not my favorite series, but I have to admit that Belt is fwickin’ hot. I’m this tempted to pick one up, but after just having splurged on my Gatack Belt, I don’t know if I can swing it. I got other purchases to think about. In any case, if you’re a Den-O fan, then you got one helluva kickass toy to look forward to. And now if you’re a LadyMercury fan (like me!), send all your fan mail here.

Boukenger and Ultraman aren’t the only anniversary releases this week. Though most already know, Tokuplex has also recently dropped a new release in the ass-kick-tacular, Gaoranver vs. Super Sentai! I thought Boukenger vs. Super Sentai was all kinds of kickass, but when it comes to anniversary specials, Forever Red and Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai still reign supreme.

Stop on over to Tokuplex, boot up your BT Tracker and get it while it’s hot!

Anniversary Movies: Boukenger vs. Super Sentai & Ultraman Moebius and the Ultra Brothers!!!

28 03 2007

Recently, all three major tokusatsu franchises celebrated their anniversary. Ultraman with its 40th, Sentai with its 30th and Kamen Rider with its 35th, and while the latter didn’t do anything too special, Ultraman and Sentai sure did. And to help fans celebrate are two new fansub groups bringing you two new movies.

First up us Go Go Sentai Boukenger VS Super Sentai, brought to you by Elite Justice Fansubs. The Boukenger have been trapped in an alternate dimension by a new villain and it’s up to Eiji to gather up some of Sentai’s finest to bring the team back, along with the help of the mysterious new red, AkaRed.

UltraBrosMovie

Fushigi-chan brings us the second movie, Ultraman Mebius and the Ultra Brothers. 20 years ago, a monster with unrivaled power arose and threatened all mankind. Thanks to the efforts of the Ultra Brothers, the monster was sent back to the sea. Now in the present, the monster has returned and is allied with various other aliens. The Ultra Brothers return to earth to help the newest member of the space garrison, Mebius, defeat this threat once and for all.

Happy 10th Anniversary Toonami!

19 03 2007

It all began with a website once called CNX and now is the bastion of justice known far and wide as TheXBridge. I was a HUGE fan of Toonami back in the day and the presentation it brought to bringing back old favorites like the Thundercats and Robotech in a way that had never been done before. These people actually knew and understood the material and what it was so fucking cool. Every video and bumper not only brought back shows like Ronin Warriors, Reboot, and Sailor Moon, but a presentation that this time wasn’t some generic train, but one that you could tell was from fans and for fans.

I immediately took to the internet and joined forces with Jeff Harris and his heroes of Toonami justice over at his website under the name JohnCrichton. That’s where I got my start for loving web communities and message boards. I learned how best to construct and create a feeling of kinship and camaraderie that led me to help out another Jeff that owned a pretty tiny site at the time called, Japan Hero. Thus its Access was eventually born.

Needing room to grow and leaving the Japan Hero to forge its own formidable path, eventually lead to my journey out into the cybernetic wild of the intertron to find a place where I might construct my own sprawling web-metropolis.

The first name I came up with was actually Karate Explosion Unlimited (…seriously), but was told that was stupid and eventually settled on Henshin Justice Unlimited. Thanks to heroes like DekaMaster, MarZeo, SC, Aarowned and countless others that deserve mention HJU is here and I couldn’t be more proud.

So here’s to the awesome block of action that basically started all for me. Happy Birthday, Toonami and keep on rockin. ;)
