Alright, I’m no Ultraman fan. I have love for the guy, but we don’t really hang out ever on a regular basis. The only time we’ve ever had a blast was that Ultraman Mebius & the Ultra Brothers movie which was head and above one of the greatest things I have ever had the pleasure of beholding.

So, I didn’t really know anything about Ultraman’s creators not owning Ultraman. Here, you need not listen to my uninformed ass. The Famous Agust Ragone has the full lowdown over on his blog and that is where you should be reading this.

Congratulations to Ultraman and Tsuburaya Productions, tho… and here’s to a bright future:

It’s finally over. After more than a decade of slings and arrows, Tsuburaya Productions has won. Thai-based Chaiyo Films’ strong-armed attempt to steal the Ultraman franchise by defrauding and defaming Tsuburaya Productions (the company founded by Eiji Tsuburaya Productions in 1963), has really come to an end. Now, there will be no holding back on Tsuburaya Productions’ hopes to market their properties in the US and beyond.

Chances are there are some of you out there that don’t watch the Super Bowl for the game itself, you just stick around for the commercials.

This made it all the more worthwhile.

Stewie is bitchslapped and Underdog finally gets his for selling out to Disney. Even after his comic has ceased publication, the good man is will always be Charlie Brown. Thus, I have created a new phrase to further illustrate utter pwnage;

“Better crack open the Sunday paper, you just got Charlie Browned!”

….Yeah doesn’t exactly roll off of the tongue does it? Well you may as well coin it now as it accurately describes an event that Tokusatsu freaks like myself have been waiting 10 years for finally happened this week: Chaiyo Entertainment has finally gotten their asses royally kicked in the courts and Tsuburaya has claimed victory!

HERO: PERFECT HUNTER
Airs February 10th 2008.

Present Time. Wataru heads to the Café Mal D’amour along with Shizuka to thank them for the table board. Wataru tells the always severe Megumi that he wants to become a wonderful person like his father. The Master, knowing Wataru’s father was Kurenai Otoya, has an unexpected reaction.

22 years ago. Otoya, as always, is in the city, talking to girls. However, Shima, who had been watching him fight the Fangaia, assigns Yuri the task of monitoring him, as Shima wants to recruit him as a Fangaia hunter. Yuri tells him that his attitude may be a problem but Shima does not change his mind.

Present time. A female lawyer named Aya has come to Wataru’s house. According to her, his father, Otoya had given trouble to a lot of people. Wataru doesn’t give credit and decides to search all the victims in the list Aya provides to prove her wrong.
While at it, Wataru meets a bounty hunter named Nago and…

I know I already posted about this in the Comic Book and Video Game update, but I had to post something one more time. No More Heroes for the Nintendo Wii is a-fucking-mazing. This game is made for fans like us. It’s a celebration to the Japanese Fanboy and fanboys in general. The story of the game plays out like something out of a tokusatsu like Cutey Honey the Live, GARO and Sh15uya, the game play is slick and fun, and the sheer style emminating from this game has me in a constant state of grinning while playing it.

Seriously… buy this game. The 50 dollar price tag is a bit steep, but I fully believe the developer deserves every single penny for this inspired piece of art. If you pick it up, pop on into the forums to let us know what you think. In the meantime to wet your whistles, here’s the opening to the game and after the jump… the first boss battle against Death Metal the Holy Sword.

MUSICAL SUITE: FATHER AND SON VIOLIN
Airs February 3rd 2008.

Shizuka has accepted another violin repairing job in the absence and without permission of Wataru, who keeps working hard to some day obtain the particular color his father’s violin has. Complaining, Wataru receives the case from Shizuka and opens it, it is a violin with a big crack across it. Wataru is frightened at the sight of the violin, why?

22 years ago, 1986. Yuri is told by Shima to protect a young violinist named Hitomi. A Fangaia who targets only female violinists seems to have appeared. Yuri then goes to where Hitomi is and finds none other but Otoya with her. Apparently he is a former violinist and he coaches Hitomi.

Meanwhile, in the present time, Wataru goes looking for ingredients to repair the violin. Megumi catches him again doing weird things and is about to tell him off again but…

In 1986, Yuri finally confronts the Fangaia but it’s true identity is…!

LESSON 47: SABA-SABA! KENDAN NOW
Airs February 3rd 2008.

Invited by Jan, Rio and Mele approach SCRTC. However, Ran and Retsu can’t forgive them so easily for all the people they made suffer. So, they decide to perform a Kendan, a battle between those who commit a crime and those who judge it. Three days from now, Ran and Retsu will face Rio and Mele in a Kendan Battle. However, the supposedly defeated Sanyo appears…
