Shout! Factory Announces 40-Disc Power Rangers DVD Collection

Shout! Factory, known for remastering classic television for DVD, detailed its first wave of Power Rangers home-video releases in May 2012. The initial set, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Season One, Volume One, marked the franchise’s DVD debut, collecting the first thirty episodes across three discs for a July 21, 2012 release at a suggested retail price of $19.93. A second volume, covering the remaining thirty episodes of the season, followed that fall.

The larger release was a partnership with Time Life: a six-disc Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season One set and a forty-disc collection spanning Power Rangers: Seasons One through Seven, sold directly to fans through a Time Life television and online campaign starting July 30, 2012. The full forty-disc set included all 145 original episodes across the first three Mighty Morphin seasons plus the ten-episode Alien Rangers series, continuing through the 183 episodes of Power Rangers Zeo, Turbo, In Space, and Lost Galaxy, along with a retrospective featurette and new cast and crew interviews.
