Ultra Seven Coming to DVD in the West

Amazon listed a classic Ultra Seven DVD set ahead of an official announcement from Shout! Factory, the label behind the earlier Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers DVD release. The listing did not specify whether the set would carry the original uncut Japanese version with subtitles or the 1994 TNT English dub, describing a 6-disc set with 1,140 minutes of the show due for release on December 11th at $49.97.

An update to the post noted that tokusatsu and Ultraman historian August Ragone confirmed on his own blog that the set would carry Japanese audio only and would omit the series’ notorious episode 12, which featured aliens depicted with radiation sickness. Ragone also described his own involvement in helping put the set together.
