Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger Cafe Delusion Base Opens in Japan
A one-month Super Sentai-themed pop-up cafe, the Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger Cafe Delusion Base, opened in Tokyo, offering meals and drinks named after various Sentai series. Dishes on the menu, priced between roughly 400 and 900 yen, included the Sun Vulcan Ball (tricolor meatballs with blue plate and red-and-yellow sauce), Birdonic Wave (standard karaage fried chicken), Glatch Gratin (an unbaked gratin), Dai Rin Ken (onion rings shaped after Dairanger’s circular sword), Denji Stick (french fries), Dino Curry (billed as not actually containing dinosaur meat), Super Dynamite (grilled salmon with a fireball garnish), and Rolling Vulcan (a five-flavor dessert shaped like a Gatling gun). The drink menu drew on the Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger series specifically.
The cafe’s opening followed an earlier report that a second season of Akibaranger had been officially confirmed at Japan’s Super Hero Festival the week before.
