Dina Cataldi Powers Up in the New Trailer for MMPR

A new trailer for MMPR, a non-profit fan film reimagining of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, aired publicly on Thanksgiving Day following a fall comic-con and festival run. The project, directed by Dominick Sivili, followed a crowdfunding campaign begun more than a year earlier and arrived roughly twenty years after Power Rangers first crossed over to the United States through Saban Entertainment.

The first episode, set for 2014, stars Dina Cataldi as the Blue Ranger, with Don Money, Ricky Barksdale, Kimberly, and Ashley Carvalho rounding out the Red, Black, Pink, and Yellow Ranger roles. The cast also includes John Damroth and Matt Meinsen, Robert Axelrod and Jerry Murdock voicing and portraying a new take on the season-two villain Lord Zedd, and David Fielding, an original cast member since the first season, returning as Zordon.

The episode’s synopsis describes Cataldi’s character, Claire Ashmore, as a former soldier for a paramilitary group called the Silver Guardians who defects after uncovering plans by its leader, General E.A. Collins, and turns to Zordon for help recovering the Power Morphers before Lord Zedd can act.
