Toei Japan Channel Cancelled Before US Tokusatsu Streaming Launch
Toei Japan Channel, the internet streaming service that had promised an eventual English-subtitled release of tokusatsu programming in the United States, was cancelled in late November 2013, just over two months after its initial announcement. Word of the cancellation surfaced through fan reports on social media before any official statement clarified what had gone wrong.
The cancellation left the western tokusatsu fandom back where it had started: without an official streaming source for new Kamen Rider or Super Sentai episodes, and dependent on whichever future service might eventually pick up the slack.
