Ultraman Ginga S, Directed by Koichi Sakamoto, Detailed

Ultraman Ginga S, directed by Koichi Sakamoto, was detailed ahead of its premiere as taking place two years after the defeat of Dark Rugiel. An ancient stone called Victorium can transform a chosen person into a giant warrior, Ultraman Victory, and a new enemy, Chiburu Seijin Exceler, lands on Earth seeking the stone using an agent, Android Zero One, setting up a three-way conflict between humans, the underground Victorian people, and Exceler’s forces.

Ultraman Ginga gains a new form in the season, Ultraman Ginga Storium, shortened to “Ginga S,” which draws on the combined powers of six Ultra Brothers, Ultraman, Zoffy, Ultraseven, Ultraman Jack, Ultraman Ace, and Ultraman Taro, using a Storium Brace given by Taro. Shou, the Victorian protecting the Victorium Stone, transforms into Ultraman Victory using the Victory Lancer and can reshape his arm using Spark Dolls modeled on various Ultra Kaiju.

The season introduces a new defense team, UPG. Takuya Negishi plays Hikaru Raidou / Ultraman Ginga, sent by UPG to track Chiburu Seijin and discovering the ancient city of Victorium in the process. Takuya Kusakawa returns as Tomoya Ichijouji, now researching the Victorium stone at UPG’s sponsorship. Ryuichi Ohura, previously Nobuhiko Tsukikage / Shadowmoon in Kamen Rider Decade: All Rider vs. Dai-Shocker and Tori / Anhel Seijin in Ultraman Mebius, plays UPG captain Yoshiaki Jinno. Yukari Taki, who had worked with Sakamoto before as Aoi Katsuragi in Kamen Rider W Returns: Kamen Rider Accel, plays UPG’s sole female member and combat leader, Arisa Sugita. Takahiro Katou, previously of Shogeki Gouraigan!!, plays fellow combat specialist Gouki Matsumoto.

On the Victorian side, Uji Kiyotaka plays Shou / Ultraman Victory, son of Queen Kisara, played by Mirai Yamamoto. Rina Koike, previously a child actress in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon and Nomura Shizuka in Kamen Rider Kiva, plays Sakuya, Shou’s childhood friend and temple guardian. Child actor Hinata Yamada, previously Shou Sakai in Kamen Rider Wizard episode 45, plays Sakuya’s younger brother Repi, and Yosuke Saito, with prior tokusatsu roles across Ultraman Mebius, Kamen Rider THE NEXT, and GARO Red Requiem, plays the Victorian Kamushin.

Moga Mogami, of the idol group Dempagumi.inc, plays Android Zero One, the agent sent to retrieve the Victorium Stone; she and her group had previously worked with Sakamoto on the drama Innocent Lilies, and Dempagumi.inc was expected to perform the season’s ending theme.
