Ultraman Orb: New Ultra Fusions, Additional Cast Revealed

Three new Ultra Fusion forms for the upcoming Ultraman Orb series were revealed, combining Tiga & Max, Cosmos & X, and Gaia & Victory; only the Gaia & Victory combination was given a name at the time, Photon Victorium.

The show’s supporting cast was also revealed. Miyabi Yatsura was cast as Naomi Yumeno, who founds the group SSP (Something Search People) with her friend Jetta after witnessing one of the “Giants of Light” during her studies. Naoto Takahashi was cast as Jetta Hayami, Naomi’s friend and SSP co-founder, handling the group’s cameras and website. Hiroaki Nerio was cast as Shin Matsudo, a physics and antique-civilization researcher; Nerio was previously known to tokusatsu fans for playing Silvra in the Kamen Rider Cho Den-O & Decade movie and Captain Koba in Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future. Shingo Yanagisawa was cast as Ittetsu Shibukawa, Naomi’s uncle and captain of the VTL (Versatile Tactical Leader) squad, who pilots the Jet VTL and consults SSP when monsters attack the city; Yanagisawa was previously known for playing Toru Morishita in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters. Takaya Aoyagi was cast as Jagras Juggler, Ultraman Orb’s well-dressed nemesis, who wields the Dark Ring and Kaiju Cards to summon the monsters Mega Birther and Mega Grand King.

Hideo Ishiguro, previously seen in Kamen Rider Den-O, was set to star as Gai Kurenai, who transforms into Ultraman Orb using the Orb Ring and various Ultra Fusion Cards to combine the powers of two Ultramen. Ultraman Orb was set to premiere July 9.
