From TV Guide:
“When PowerRangers Super Megaforce kicks off, Prince Vekar arrives with his massive alien Armada to conquer the earth. With the help of their supernatural guardian, Gosei, the Power Rangers are given special morphers and keys that allow them to morph into Super Megaforce Rangers. Using these keys, they also have the amazing new ability to morph into any team of legendaryrangers from the past, gaining access to their incredible powers, weapons, Zords and Megazords.”

  1. It’s a late observation, but I’ve wondered if the decision to do Gokaiger as an “upgrade” rather than a distinct season isn’t an executive maneuver to avoid portraying piracy (ie intellectual) in a positive light. ’cause, hey, you could write a whole paper on the sentai series as a metaphor for game emulation, with keys and Mobirates standing in for roms and console emulators. And on how screamingly awesome they can make things when used effectively.

If this does feature in the producers’ thought process, are they going to come up with an alternative explanation for all the pirate pagentry, or are they just going to ignore the problem entirely?

    1. i doubt that is the reason. Look at past series where us pr didnt take the format or concept the sentai was and chaged things. They probably did it more since there was alot of episodes with pre zyu footage they wont use and only are adapting around 17-19 episodes of the 50 sentai episodes with more pr friendly footage.
