Power Rangers SPD's Chris Violette Turns Up in Star Trek: Discovery

Chris Violette, who played Sky Tate, the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers S.P.D., made recurring appearances in the September 2017 premiere episodes of Star Trek: Discovery. In the show’s opening arc, the crew of the USS Shenzhou encounters a mysterious object in space, with Violette’s character, Bridge Officer Britch Weeton, responsible for keeping the ship battle-ready through the crisis.

It marked a swap of one futuristic uniform for another: Violette shared the screen with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star Michelle Yeoh, who captained the Shenzhou in the role of Philippa Georgiou. Star Trek: Discovery’s new episodes streamed weekly on CBS All Access in the United States and on Netflix internationally.
