Pre-Order the POWER RANGERS Lord Drakkon Throne Today

Pre-Order the POWER RANGERS Lord Drakkon Throne Today

Blog, Conventions, Power Rangers, Toys
As Power Rangers fans bid farewell to the superhero franchise's long-standing toy makers at Bandai, they're offering one more special item before closing up shop and passing the torch to new owner Hasbro. As a special convention exclusive, Bandai America will make available the Lord Drakkon figure, as well as his iconic throne, from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book series from BOOM! Studios. Hailing from a dark alternate universe in which Green Ranger Tommy Oliver never joined the show's familiar heroes in their quest to save Earth from evil, Drakkon quickly became one of the book's most prominent villains, now featured in the Shattered Grid mini-series event. The Lord Drakkon figure and the Lord Drakkon throne are sold separately, but are available for order by attendin...
Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD S.H.Figuarts Blood Stark & Kamen Rider Cross-Z

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD S.H.Figuarts Blood Stark & Kamen Rider Cross-Z

Blog, Kamen Rider, Toku, Toys
Two SH Figuarts items were produced in the main toy release line for the Kamen Rider Build TV series, those being Build himself and the villainous Night Rogue. Now, despite these two figures sharing a lot of the same pieces, Blood Stark and Cross-Z, unfortunately, are Premium Bandai Web Exclusives. Let's start with the negatives right now, because the absolute worst thing about these figures are their prices (Well, Blood Stark's neck joint is also loose, but it's acceptable). As previously mentioned, these two figures have a lot of parts that are similar to those in past releases, but their price point is double just because they're Premium Bandai. This is going to be a huge deterrent for a lot of fans, and rightfully so, since the figures don't come with enough to justify this huge s...
Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Genius Full Bottle

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Genius Full Bottle

Blog, Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
The lead hero of Kamen Rider Build has reached his final Genius Form. And, to attain that form, Sento needs the Genius Full Bottle. The DX Genius Full Bottle is a great final toy for the line. It's simple, but it comes with all the functions you'd expected, and it looks and sounds pretty sweet. On its own, the the toy looks similar in size and shape to the DX Sparkling Can. It does, however, have a new color scheme and mirror in the center for a cool light-up effect when activated in the driver. On its own, the DX Genius Full Bottle has a button that you can press to activate the "turn on" sound effect. From there, continually pressing the button will cycle through Sento's voice saying some of his classic catchphrases until you cycle back to the "turn on" sound again. Inserting the to...
Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD SODO Figures Wave 9

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD SODO Figures Wave 9

Blog, Kamen Rider, Toku, toku, Toys
Kamen Rider Build's 9th SODO set features 4 figures again and, like the last set, one of them is from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid's Another Ending Trilogy. First up, we have 2 Best Matches from Hokuto and Seito, they are RoseHelicopter and ToraUFO. These are pretty standard figures for Build's SODO line, but of course this isn't a bad thing. These figures have great paint, articulation, and detail on them. The amount of stickers is reasonable and the swapping ability is still present. Next up, we have a retool of Kamen Rider Paradox from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. I never owned any figures from Ex-Aids SODO line but, as far as I can tell, this version of Paradox is identical, minus the coat tail pieces, and the plastic is molded in black and grey instead of Paradox's signature red and blue. His stick...
Toy Review: LUPINRANGER VS PATRANGER DX Trigger Machine Crane & Drill

Toy Review: LUPINRANGER VS PATRANGER DX Trigger Machine Crane & Drill

Blog, Reviews, Super Sentai, Toku, Toys
After the phantom thieves of Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger got their two-piece VS Vehicle last month, now it's the cops' turn. The DX Trigger Machine Crane and Drill functions similarly to the DX Scissors and Blade Dial Fighter. They are two separate VS Vehicles that can combine (I use that word loosely) into one solid vehicle. They function with the DX VS Changer together or individually, and they combine with PatKaiser to make PatKaiser Strong. In the DX VS Changer, you get Keisatsu Boost sounds for the two separately and summoning sounds for the two together. As I've said in past videos, I absolutely love the functionally of the VS Vehicles in the Changer, and this set is no exception. However, I've also stated that the mecha this season aren't really my th...
Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Evol Trigger

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Evol Trigger

Blog, Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
Kamen Rider Evol gets an upgrade in a very similar way to the star of his show. This results in similar toys yet again for the Kamen Rider Build series, though that might not be such a bad thing. The DX Evol Trigger here is a huge improvement on the previously reviewed DX Hazard Trigger. Pressing the button and inserting it into the DX Evol Driver gives you the "Revolution" sound effect with the new jingle for Black Hole form. Furthermore, in this state, you get a new attack, the "Black Hole Attack". A second button-press gives you the "Fever Flow", obviously similar to the "Overflow" from the previous version of the toy. Lastly, this toy gives you the option for the "Black Hole Finish" and the "Black Hole Break" for its final sound effects. Overall, it's a very simple toy and complem...
Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Evol Driver, DX Rabbit & Dragon Evol Bottles, DX Bat Engine Full Bottle Set

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD DX Evol Driver, DX Rabbit & Dragon Evol Bottles, DX Bat Engine Full Bottle Set

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
Kamen Rider Evolt has appeared in the last act of the Kamen Rider Build TV series, and of course a new Rider means new gear, so lets take a look at it all. First up, we have the DX Evol Driver, basically a repaint of the DX Build Driver, but with new sounds and a few fresh parts. All of the unique sound effects are fantastic and a vast improvement on the old Driver toy. It's able to read every single collectible Full Bottle too (as seen in the second video), though it does read them differently than the DX Build Driver, so that keeps things fresh. The set comes with our first two Evol Bottles, Cobra and Rider System. With these, you're able to make Evol's base form. The form gives you a henshin jingle and finishing attack, the Evol Finish. Any non-Best Match gives you the Evol Attack ...
Toy Review: LUPINRANGER VS PATRANGER YUDO Figures (Wave 1)

Toy Review: LUPINRANGER VS PATRANGER YUDO Figures (Wave 1)

Reviews, Super Sentai, Toku, Toys
Well, last time we looked at the YUDO toy line, my opinion wasn't too positive. This time around, I'm happy to say that YUDO learned from its mistakes with Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger and made the Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger figures much better. SODO still does it the best, in my opinion, but this round of figures is leagues better than the last one. This set consists of 6 figures in 7 boxes, one for each ranger and one box for the accessories. So be warned, without the accessory box, your figures will not come with a single weapon or any additional pieces. The figures themselves are pretty solid. They feel slightly cheaper than SODO figures, but that makes sense since you are getting twice as many figures per wave for the same price and each figure is in its own...
Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD S.H.Figuarts Night Rogue

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD S.H.Figuarts Night Rogue

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys
Kamen Rider Build has been lucky enough to have 2 regular SH Figuarts releases, with a 3rd to come in June. Here we have Night Rogue, the first major antagonist of the series. Holy crap, this figure is beautiful. Build was a good figure but his design is very simple. In contrast, Night Rogue is complex and far more intricate. The detailing is just superb and the articulation  doesn't suffer one bit for any of that. The paint is on point too, he even has glowing yellow eyes that can be seen under his bat visor when you look closely. The accessories are great as well. He comes with the Transtream Gun and Steam Blade, both are accurate to the show and look great on their own but can even combine into the rifle mode for an even cooler look. At the end of the day, I have absolutely zero neg...

Toy Review: KAMEN RIDER BUILD SODO Figures Wave 8

Kamen Rider, Reviews, Toku, Toys, Uncategorized
Kamen Rider Build's 8th SODO toy line entry comes with a little surprise. First off, as expected, we have RabbitRabbit and TankTank forms. These are great figures and use the same gimmick we've seen throughout the Build line. Even though it's not show-accurate, you can create a "Super" RabbitTank form, if you will. Articulation, detail, and stickers are all standard and these guys just look fantastic on the shelf. The twist, however, is that this time around, we get 2 new figures from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid's Another Ending movies. These figures are Kamen Rider Genmu Level Billion and Kamen Rider Lazer Level X. For me, these are brand new figures, but for those of you who were into SODO during Ex-Aid's run, you'll recognize these as repaints/re-stickered versions of Ex-Aid Level 99 and La...
