It's that time again. The 20th entry in the Heisei Era's official Kamen Rider television series franchise is quickly approaching, and ahead of it comes a flood of new images and bits of information from which to glean early opinions. And as we feast our eyes on the new Kamen Rider Zi-O, we wonder what the future may hold for this enduring brand.
And the future is very much on the minds of the show's creative forces, as the new series lead will be a time traveler, utilizing powers inspired by the heroes who came before him in the Heisei Era, which comes to an end with this incoming project.
As the clock imagery in the title logo implies, this is a watch-themed hero, who changes forms based on the timepieces inserted into his henshin belt, accessing various transformations that will ...
So, since most regular release DX Full Bottle sets are so similar, we're going to go over 4 today from the Kamen Rider Build TV series and movie line.
The first 3, from the show, are Tora UFO, Shika Pyramid, and Kujira Jet forms. All of these DX sets are fairly standard. If you like the form or the jingle (Shika Pyramid specifically has a very good jingle) then I recommend the sets. They're all cheap enough and solid additions into the Build toy line and any fans collection. However, the DX Wizard and Orange Full Bottle set is a bit more of a niche pick up.
Much like the Kamen Rider Fourze and Kamen Rider OOO version, this set based on Kamen Rider Wizard and Kamen Rider Gaim requires you to have 2 other Full Bottles to achieve a Best Match with. Wizard best matches with Diamond fro...
Kamen Rider Baron is trading in his banana spear for a flaming torch this year as Kamen Rider Gaim actor Kobayashi Yutaka will represent Japan as a torchbearer in the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
Though many of us know him as the uncompromising dancer-turned-antihero Kumon Kaito, both befriending and often clashing with his superpowered rival Kouta, he first made his name as a member of the J-pop group BOYS AND MEN, whose website made the announcement of his Olympics involvement. With vivacious period costumes and inventive style, they caught the eye of many enraptured fans. Their songs "Boymen Ninja" and "Wanna be!" both climbed to the top of the Japanese music charts, securing Kobayashi's stardom for years to come.
Japan will compete in the Oly...
Five episodes into reviewing this marvelous TV show, and I'm wondering if Kamen Rider Build will even have episodes that don't contribute to the overall plot in some way. So far, every episode has majorly factored into the ongoing expansion of Build's world and the characters within, showing no signs of stopping. Let's dive into the events of Episode 5 and count up our title hero's list of fashion crimes.
As if the awesomeness of Build's dueling recaps couldn't get any better, we now have the cafe owner Soichi getting in on the narration game, opting for a slightly longer summation of recent events. My first thought is that, yeah, they actually kind of need this. There are some Kamen Rider shows where the recap feels almost like a waste, because they're not actually reviewing anything...

"Kamen Rider Gaim" came at the perfect time for me as a toku fan. While I liked its predecessor, "Kamen Rider Wizard," more than some, I had grown more than a little tired of the standard formula that the past several incarnations of this show had all adopted, to varying degrees of success. And, while I'm always looking forward to the Next Big Thing this franchise has to offer, I'd be lying if I said I didn't take a look at some of the costumes for Gaim and want to run for the hills. I mean, fruits and padlocks? How do you take a toy theme like that and make anything remotely cool out of it? The answer, apparently, is that you hire an infamous anime writer like Urobuchi Gen, enough of a fan of the property to "get it" but detached enough from the usual tropes and traditions that he could...
