As the first promotional trailer dropped last July, Bat in the Sun, with their partners at Qualcomm Snapdragon and G Fuel, promised a more complete version of legendary Street Fighter video game heroes Ryu and Chun-Li duking it out with the spandex-clad combatants of the Power Rangers television series. After months of waiting, their battle is finally at hand. And with it comes a smorgasbord of Ranger references and a load of stunts to entertain you, while also asking if you would please keep playing the Power Rangers Legacy Wars mobile game many fans have been digging so much lately.
Now, the wrecked Megazord is a compelling sight for this PR fan, but I gotta ask. With all the hype surrounding Ryu's ascent to Rangerdom here, where's Chun-Li's Power Co...
... Okay, maybe that title was a little over-the-top, but I just couldn't help myself.
Part of me has dreaded tackling this review. As a longtime fan of the Power Rangers franchise, it's not always easy to bring tough criticism to this thing I've loved for years, a huge influence on my life and how I see the world. It's even worse knowing that a number of people may have hoped to hear something quite different from me on this subject, and would be waiting to get my take on such a momentous occasion as this, the 25th Anniversary special episode. Certainly, it'll be an unpopular opinion with some, a few of which I'd count as friends. It's worse even still when one takes into account my opinion of the current season, Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel.
The brutal truth is that I hesitate...
The new Dino Mega Charge fanfilm brings standout heroes of two entries in the recent Saban Brands era of the Power Rangers franchise together for the first time in live-action, fighting evil once again. This time, they face an enemy from distant Ranger history in the form of the Wizard of Deception of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Brennan Mejia slips back into the spandex of Red Ranger Tyler Navarro from Power Rangers Dino Charge. And we can't get enough of Ciara Hanna lately, as she comes back for another mini-production playing in the Ranger sandbox, as Yellow Ranger Gia Moran from Power Rangers Megaforce.
Tyler and Gia are BACK to join forces against an old enemy from the Mighty Morphin' days, the Wizard of Deception. But what what will they do when t...
The geek multiverse is slowly fusing.
Already, fans of the popular Power Rangers: Legacy Wars mobile game were treated to an unexpected announcement that several characters from the enduring Street Fighter franchise would be invading the Morphin Grid as selectable fighters among the game's roster of combatants duking it out for supremacy. Now comes the news that one such character will not only do battle with the heroes and villains of the Power Rangers film and television franchise, he will be joining their ranks as a morphed Ranger. What in the actual Netherworld...?
But wait, there's more. To mark this momentous crossover event, the gods have seen fit to send a messenger from on high, to tell us of this challenge to the status quo, in the form of a teaser trailer for Bat in the ...
What a time to be a Power Rangers fan. A certain number of years ago, the thought of more seasons of the show would have seemed farfetched, let alone the release of a feature-length film, a live streaming show, an addictive mobile game, and a successful line of ongoing comics to add on top of that. There's a lot to be thankful for in 2018, and the hits, it seems, just keep on coming. Now, as we rev up for the launch of the Power Rangers: Shattered Grid comic event, the main writer of the BOOM! Studios publication brings to us this live-action teaser short, starring none other than original Green Ranger Jason David Frank from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (and, like, fifty other seasons) as the villainous Lord Drakkon.
Kyle Higgins has been putting in work these past couple years with B...
Even the brass tacks are at stake in this episode of Power Rangers HyperForce. Streaming monster Twitch rolls out more live roleplaying action with this story of new heroes banding together to stop a dark Alliance from wrecking havoc across the massive universe built up in the long-running Power Rangers television franchise, and this time, they have Cameron Jebo to watch their backs. As alien Silver Ranger Orion, he fought off an invading armada with his teen teammates on 2014's Power Rangers Super Megaforce. And I truly never thought I'd say this, but the best exploration of his character and his world can't be found in the show he debuted on - it's right here. Another feather in an increasingly frilly cap on HyperForce's head.
The hype for HyperForce cont...
There's a simple explanation for that.
The Time Force Silver Ranger is just one of many special appearances in recent episodes of Power Rangers HyperForce as the streamsters at Hyper RPG are in the midst of celebrating their second anniversary. The time-bending story continues to unfold for this new team of heroes in Twitch's live roleplaying game series as they encounter more familiar faces from the Power Rangers SPD season of the television franchise.
Thanks to Twitter's CeeVee for that hot artwork.
Power Rangers HyperForce streams live every Tuesday at 6PM PT from HyperRPG.

The New York Toy Fair is currently in full swing. This is the time when companies create booths and give presentations to the press to show up what direction they are heading and what toys are coming out for the year. For toy geeks, it's like Christmas seeing all the new reveals. But one announcement that rocked the toy world was made a couple days prior.
In probably the greatest shock to the fandom, it was revealed that Bandai of America and Saban Brands would be parting ways in 2019! After 25 years, Bandai of America will no longer make Power Rangers toys or import items from Toei Co's Super Sentai. Though it should be noted that Bandai of Japan will still continue to support Super Sentai with toys and merchandise. To put this announcement in perspective this would be like Hasbro di...
Well, this is an interesting turn of events. After a partnership that endured across two and a half decades, entertainment company Saban Brands has taken a page out of the playbook of their most famous characters and decided to sacrifice the zords. Bandai America, who has worked with Saban for 25 years to produce toys based upon the long-lasting Power Rangers brand, has jointly announced its separation from the media company. Fans are already reeling from the thought that the one other consistent name that carried alongside Saban's where its multicolored superheroes were concerned may soon fade into memory. But as the news comes as a surprise, it's also not one that causes much confusion either.
Bandai and Saban's statement follows:
"After a successful 25-year partnership building ...
"You touched my burritos?"
This and many other important questions demand to be answered in the ninth episode of Power Rangers HyperForce. Since the premiere of the tabletop RPG series based upon the long-running Power Rangers television franchise, its time-tossed heroes have trekked across the multiverse meeting many famous faces along the way. Previously, Erin Cahill (Power Rangers Time Force), Karan Ashley (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Mike Ginn (Power Rangers RPM) and Santa Clause (North Pole) have graced the presence of these Time Force cadets struggling to save the world and set right what cannot go wrong in the distant future. Now, their missing teammate in yellow returns to the group after a brief absence, along with one of the most known veterans in Power Ranger history.
