In Ultraman Fusion Fight, the towering monsters of the Ultra Series multiverse and the giant heroes who defend against them are swept up in a battle for supremacy. As modern Ultraman features characters whose strange and varied forms are combined and manipulated into new "fusions", this arcade-style Carddass game capitalizes on that feature to the Nth degree, constantly updating with newer and more bizarre meldings of popular figures from their decades-spanning franchise. Including those of 2017's Ultraman Geed and 2016's Ultraman Orb. If the name Carddass makes you think of aliens from Star Trek rather than the mechanics of the game, fret not. As far back as 1988, toy behemoth Bandai has consistently released new DataCarddass collectible trading cards, based upon many well-known prop...

Now, the battle rages once more in this new title, presented to us through the prestigious lens of Godzilla comic artist Matt Frank. Having worked for years in the world of comics, Matt Frank has touched many beloved brands, including Transformers and Wrath of the Titans, adding his gloriously epic touch to many fantasy worl...

Premium Bandai has revealed all-new exclusive S.H.Figuarts based on another Ultraman character, Alien Zarab. Previously Zarab was been made into Tamashii Nations figures, two exclusive Ultra-Acts, under his Imitation Ultraman guise. However, Alien Zarab will be made into a S.H.Figuarts, as its original self! Now, Alien Zarab made its debut in the original Ultraman series, in episode 18 "Brother from Another Planet." In the episode, Alien Zarab poses as a friendly alien trying to help mankind, but secretly plans to conquer the world. Note to China’s ‘Fake Ultraman’ Creators – Don’t Piss Off the Originals

A loud thunderclap rang out in the Ultraman fandom when it was announced that Dragon Force: So Long, Ultraman, the sequel to China's animated Dragon Force movie, would feature their own interpretation of the classic red-and-silver giant hero Ultraman, owned by Japan's Tsuburaya Productions. Not only that, but this character, whose use of the Ultraman name is highly discouraged by its Japanese owners, was portrayed as a villain in the film's promotional material. Embroiled in legal battles for years over the rights to their original intellectual property, Tsuburaya has had its hands full. But they're not the only ones upset over this development. It seems even the Ultraman actors themselves have begun adding their voices to the chorus speaking out against this project. Actor and musici...

S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Geed – When Super Mega’s Just Not Enough

Gallery, Movies & TV, News, Toku, Toys, Ultraman
Forgive the Ultraman Tiga US dub reference, I just couldn't help myself. Ultraman Geed is getting his own splendid S.H. Figuarts from the fine folks at Bandai Tamashii Nations. This model represents the title hero's classic form, known as Ultraman Geed Primitive. The evil Ultra, Belial's heroic offspring will stand proudly and take no guff in this highly poseable item.   One couldn't be blamed for thinking at first glance that the image of Geed rising into his giant form was a still image from the series rather than a photograph of the actual figure, with added effects. Release date for this item is set for February 2018 and is priced at 5,940 yen. Check the Bandai Tamashii Nations website for further details. "You've been enlisted into a top-secret agency called ...

Ultraman Geed: Here We Go (Away)

Articles, Blog, Movies & TV, Reviews, Toku, Ultraman
In the new Ultraman Geed, the young son of the nefarious Ultra villain Belial must rise up to save humanity from ultimate extinction. It's the perfect launchpad for an epic entry into the tome of Ultraman stories, years in the making. With the pedigree on display here, you'd have no reason not to think this would rock every sock on this and all other Earths. But while the show isn't totally abysmal, we can't tell yet if it counts as great either. If you just glance the stats for this show, it would seem to have the building blocks of something remarkable. Since Belial's debut in the Ultra Galaxy Legends movie, the ambitious Ultraman-gone-bad has grown in popularity, challenging literal armies of Ultra heroes across the multiverse. The idea that he might have a son who opposes him, ...
